Finally, the day of the Challenge of the Brave came. You were excited, but also really nervous. Yet you still felt determined to do it and prove that you are strong.

To your parents, your friends, hell, even to the rest of the seven kingdoms.

Cassandra cancelled todays training session because she wanted to train a bit before competing buuut that didn't mean that you couldn't train on your own. You built up an obstacle course and ran through it multiple times before your sister suddenly appeared.

"Ohh that looks fun! Can I try?"

"Sure you can!"

She ran through the course, using her hair to get over the tallest obstacles. She landed with a little pose. She turned to you with a beaming smile.

"That was great! Hey, have you heard of the Challenge of the Brave? Cass said she's competing!"

Right. Cassandra was competing to prove herself too. You almost forgot about that. (Y/N) now felt torn. Should she let Cassandra win and settle for second place if it ever got to that point? No, Cass would want to win fair and square, not like you could win against your teacher.

"Yeah, I have. I'm actually competing!"

"Huh, that's weird. I assumed Princesses just weren't invited."

"Invited? Wha-"

Oh. Oh.

"...I don't know about that, but maybe ask Eugene?"

You decided to cover for Cassandra. She did tell you how she felt and you weren't sure Raps understood her feelings yet. You were going to leave it in fate's hands.

"Okay, I will! So, are you excited?"

"I guess? It's kind of nerve-wracking but I'm sure it'll all be worth it"

The princess looked at you questioningly, but you were already turned away, modifying your obstacle course.

You arrived just on time for the competitors to get announced. Cassandra looked a little down in the dumps so you made a mental note to cheer her up later. You had already informed her that you'd be competing and the two of you agreed to give it your all and let the best win.

You stretched a bit as people got announced.

"...Next up we have the flower of Corona! The helping angel! Give it up for Princess (Y/N) folks!"

The crowd clapped and cheered as you flashed a smile, which slightly faltered when you saw your parents disapproving faces in the audience.

"...And finally, the iron handmaiden Caaaasandra-"

Cass gave a self assured smile. Until someone whispered something to the announcer that is.

"We have a last minute suprise entry! Please welcome the fearsome follicle! The heir with the hair, the maid with the braid! Raaaaaaapunzel!"

The crowd burst into loud cheers at the mention of her name. She was definitely the people's favourite by far.

Cassandra turned to you with a shocked and annoyed expression and you gave her a worried look. This wasn't going to go as smoothly as you hoped, was it?

"Cassandra! This is going to be so much fun!"

Cassandra looked far from excited.

The first event was announced. 'The gauntlet' didn't seem too hard. Just need to time it right... While you were thinking about the best moment to go for it, Cassandra was up.

Cassandra went through it with little effort. She was so agile, your jaw was basically on the floor. The crowd erupted into cheers. How could you compete with that? You were good at parkour, sure but you've never trained with moving obstacles!
