𝚂𝚕𝚎𝚎𝚙𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚆𝚒𝚝𝚑 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚃𝚠𝚘 𝚂𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚜 ✰☆

It took a few weeks, but (Y/N) healed fairly quickly. She was scolded by her parents for acting rashly and she couldn't tell what they were worried about more: their reputation or their youngest daughter.

Rapunzel came to your defense, but it did leave you wondering. You had studied all your life to become queen. Your childhood had been taken away. Then your older sister miraculously returns and now you'll never get the position you have trained for all your life.

Sure, you were kind of glad to be rid of that responsibility, but they never treated Rapunzel the way they treated you. She was free to go and explore, to fight for the kingdom. It took some convincing, yes, but you still weren't allowed to do that. And even when Rapunzel was still missing, they never spent time with you.

You understood them, I mean, their older daughter had been missing and the situation had seemed hopeless, but they never treated you with the love and care they gave Rapunzel, even when she was still missing. It stung. But you couldn't find it in you to blame anyone. It wasn't Rapunzel's fault, she had been a wonderful sister to you and the two of you truly clicked.

Raps really loved you dearly and you had a great bond. And your parent's had just been mourning not too long ago. Although they did treat Rapunzel with way more care, that was to be expected.

You hadn't been missing, kidnapped by an old lady for years. Nonetheless, you were hurt. It pained you to see their eyes light up anytime Raps was near. The had never looked at you that way. Never regarded you that same way. But you understood. So you pushed the bad thoughts away, locked them away in the deepest corner of your heart where they shall never see the light of day again. You loved your family.

But that wasn't the issue you were focusing on right now. After the time you and Varian had spent together in your room right after you had woken up, you couldn't stop thinking about him.

His laughter, his eyes, his voice. He occupied your mind every second of the day, and everything reminded you of him.

'Oh, that lamp is the same shade as his eyes' or 'Varian would love this'.

You knew that he had fallen for another. Even if she was too old for him, he had a genuine crush on her. Still, you couldn't help it. You didn't know what to do. So you did the only thing you could think of.

"Oooo! A sleepover? Any occasion? I can inform the others-"

"No!"

Rapunzel gave you a startled look.
"...What I mean is, I wanted it to be just for the two of us. You know, like a sleepover between sisters?"

You swore you saw stars in her eyes.

"Oh (Y/N)! That's a great idea! It feels like we haven't done something, just us two in forever!"

"Raps, you brought me soup just yesterday, when I wasn't allowed to go out yet."

She wrapped an arm around you and giggled.

"Still! A sleepover with just us two!"

She gestured with her hands.

"Oh! We have to organise everything! We need midnight snacks!"

"Sure, do that Raps"

You just hoped that you'd still find the time to ask for advice.

The night came faster than expected.

"So Raps, what did you plan to do for tonight?"

"Oh, nothing much"

She answered, pulling out a list that was way shorter than it usually was.

"I figured you had a reason for this sleepover. So, what's up?"

She looked at you expectantly.

"Well... it's kind of embarrassing. I think I have a crush?"

You said, although it came out more like a question.

"Oh! That is great news! Who's the lucky person?"

"That's the thing, it's Varian."

"Ohhh, you'd be so cute! I'm happy for you!"

"No but, he likes Cassandra."

You fiddled with your hands, looking down at the ground.

"He'll never see me like that. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do now."

She looked at you with empathy.

"Yeah, his crush on her is kind of obvious isn't it? Cass obviously doesn't reciprocate his feelings. So his feelings will pass."

"But how long will that take?"

"That depends. You could still pursue him though! He's really fond of you."

"Yeah, but I don't think he sees me like that."

"Maybe he will sometime soon, who knows? Just stay true to yourself. You're a wonderful person and Varian knows that. Maybe you two just need more time!"

"I hope you're right."

You felt lighter after talking about things. Asking for advice from Raps had definitely been a good idea.

"I'm definitely supporting you (Y/N). You two would just be the cutest!"

"...You're already planning something, aren't you?"

Raps just grinned at you.

"Not telling!"

The two of you spent the rest of the night talking, cracking jokes here and there and having an amazing time overall. Rapunzel talked about Eugene and teased you about Varian.

You ranted on about your feelings towards Varian and Rapunzel gushed. She just found you so adorable. Like a love-sick puppy! It was late when the two of you fell asleep. Rapunzel already had an idea how she would bring the two of you closer together. She was excited to see your reaction, and hoped that you would like it. Tragically, you both never got to eat the midnight snacks. Oh well, maybe some other time.
