𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝 𝙴𝚡𝚙𝚘𝚝𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜 ♥︎♡︎

Varian was more than prepared. He felt giddy as he brought his invention to it'𝚜 rightful place.

On his way there, he met Cassandra who was hanging up a banner.

"Who's ready for the expo?"

He called out to get her attention. Cass looked at him briefly before turning around and groaning.

"Hey, Cassie! Hey, you wanna see my new invention? Rumour has it, it is a shoo-in for the first prize in the contest. ɪ sᴛᴀʀᴛᴇᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴜᴍᴏʀ!"

He winked at her. Cassandra cringed, but answered anyway.

"Oh. Hey Varian. First off, it's Cass, not Cassie. Secondly, I'm slammed, so-"

Varian, still keen on impressing her, decided to interrupt.

"Oh, yeah, I- I hear ya. So, did I tell ya that my invention can create an entirely new element? I call it-"

If Cassandra was even interested at all, she didn't get to hear the rest of what he was going to say because Stan rudely interrupted his speech.

"Cassandra, I thought you should know, the captain is short on guards for the expo. This could be your big chance!"

Cassandra's face lit up hearing this, swiftly climbing off of the ladder.

"Come on, let's go!"

This left Varian all alone. And owl too. Poor Owl obviously couldn't carry the banner all on his own, so Varian climbed up the ladder as quick as possible to help him out.

(Y/N) was preparing her speech. Her father, King Frederick, gave her the responsibility of announcing the winner and handing out the prize. She had to wear a gown in Corona's traditional colours. Purple and gold. She looked at awful lot like her mother and sister.

She took one final look in the mirror, making sure everything was in place. She breathed out slowly to calm herself.

"Okay, I can do this."

She stepped outside of the castle, spotting Varian who was speaking to the older Princess.

"Okay, I can't do this."

She was about to walk back inside, when Raps called her over.

"Oh! Hey (Y/N)!"

She waved you over and you reluctantly shuffled over.

"Oh hey (Y/N)! Didn't see you there.", Varian greeted, leaning onto what you supposed was his newest invention.

It was covered by a cloth, so you couldn't be sure.

"Hey, wait till you see my invention, I bet everyone will be impressed. Do you know whether Cassandra is going to be there? I mean, pff, not like I'm doing this for Cassandra but uh... she's going to be there right?"

He nervously chuckled and you just knowingly patted him on the shoulder.

"She should be there, don't worry your pretty little head. You should prepare Varian."

"Oh right! Uh- I'll see you there?"

"You bet you will!"

He left in a hurry and Rapunzel nudged your shoulder, looking amused.

"Raps, don't you dare say anything."

She held up her hands in defense and smiled.

"Totally wasn't going to. See you around!"

She dragged Eugene to some nearby exhibits where the inventions had already been set up. Deciding that you should help with preparations seeing as you had a lot of time to spare, you went back into the safety and comfort of the castle.
