Cam's POV

Ashley has been unusually quiet throughout the day, ever since she came out of Grayson's room. Would you believe me if I told you she didn't ask me why she was in Grayson's room in the first place? I know she knows I'm behind it. She's got to have an idea. Well, she's been thinking. That, I can tell. She's been out of it, whereas Grayson seemed to be extra careful, sneaking glances in her direction intermittently.

Pierson has somewhat started the game, the plan, and believe me when I tell you he's enjoying every bit of it. He intentionally gets so close and says kinds of stuff that he knows perfectly would make me laugh. Lucas on the other hand, has been looking at us with a hard look and he was acting off, being unusually quiet.

As of now, we're to leave the Wesley's. We all get out. Pierson hugs me when he sees Lucas already staring at us. Deliberately he pecks my cheek letting his lips linger for a long while. Lucas walks past us and whether intentionally or not, bumps Pier's shoulder, separating us with a force.

"Sorry." He says, but it was so obvious he didn't mean it one bit. He looked at Pier -who was already watching him with raised brows- with eyes that showcased a sign of warning, before heading for my car. When he gets to the car he opens the backseat -Dylan is already in, Ashley in the front- and enters.

"Told ya." Pierson laughs and I punch him in the shoulder.

He touches his shoulder, "Ouch! What was that for?"

I question, "Why were you laughing?"

He smirks, "Your lover boy looks raging mad and ready to punch me countless number of times. He's really gonna deal with me if he lays hold of me. But it's okay, I'm up for it anyway."

"He's a tad furious, that I can see. But maybe it's just something that's bothering him, I think."

"You think? Girl! He's jealous already. Can't you see it?"

Maybe he is but could it be because he likes me? If he does, which I hope he doesn't, I have to clarify things with him. I can't like him like that and he can't me.

So many girls flock around him so he'll definitely find one to be with.

I snicker, "Bye!"

"Bye!'" He waves and shouts loud enough for the neighborhood to hear, "Don't miss me too much."

I know what he's trying to do.

I shoot him a glare, "I won't."

"You sure will."

I roll my eyes, "Whatever." I walk to my car, enter, and then drive off.

I drop them home.

Lucas and Dylan leave the car, leaving Ash and me alone in it. I turn to look at her and feeling my stare she averts her eyes to look at me.

She sighs! "I want to tell you something."

"Something happened in there with Grayson, didn't it?" I ask knowingly.

She nods her head, a distant look on her face. "He told me he likes me."

"Who?" My silly self asks knowing who exactly she was talking about.

She shuts her eyes and opens them, "Grayson."

I clap my hand in excitement for her and squeal in joy, "Really?!!! And what did you say to him? You told him you liked him back right?" Hopefully, she didn't blow this off, did she?

She doesn't say anything but instead a sad smile plays on her lips, so I ask, "You didn't tell him you liked him back, did you?"

She lets out a breath, "That's the thing, I don't know if I do. Do I?"

Is this girl serious? How am I supposed to answer that for her? I chuckle. "You should know."

"But I don't. And that's the problem. I don't know if I should be happy or not."

"I think you have to think about this very well. I mean, I feel you do, but then. You have to know for yourself."

She lets out another huff of breath, "Okay, but let's just say I do. What happens next, then?" She batts her lashes and I could literally perceive the number of thoughts running through her head.

I smile at her encouragingly, "When you get to that bridge you'll cross it. For now, search in your heart if you do like him. That's for a start."

"I will."

"Okay then, Bye!"

She smiles at me and gets down from the car. "Talk to you later."

---

I was so tired that I had in mind to retire to bed. I was about to put off my phone and sleep when I received a text message.

I open it. 'Hey', It said.

Okay? So I think I know this number, had already stored it. Lucas. I took it from Ashley. But how did he get mine? Oh! I know, definitely from Ashley too, right?

'Hi.', I reply.

'It's Lucas.'

Oh! I know but let me just pretend like I don't know it's him.

'It's you, Heeey!'

'Yeah, it is! how are you fairing?'- Lucas

'You saw me today.'

'Yeah. With Pierson.'- Lucas

'Um... yeah!. How are you doing?'

'I'm not okay. I just feel like talking to someone.'- Lucas

' I'm here. You can talk to me.'

'It's nothing. I'm just sad and I don't feel like talking about it. If you won't be offended.'- Lucas

'No, I won't be. I mean, you can tell me when you're ready.'

'Thanks for understanding.'- Lucas

'You're welcome.'

'So... friends?'- Lucas

'Aren't we already?'

'I guess we are.'- Lucas

'Goodnight. My eyes are drooping shut.'

'Goodnight, princess.'- Lucas

'Princess? That's new.'

'Yes, you are!'- Lucas

'Haha. Well... thanks! I guess.'

'Welcome, princess. Have a good night's rest.'-Lucas

'You too.'
