Prologue Thirty-Three

Once upon a time there was a mermaid called Alena. She lived in the western sea, alone without all her family since they were dead.

As many others when they're all alone and desperate for company, she made a miserable decision. By agreeing upon being a human for a month, then she would turn into a fossil and live inside it, at the bottom of the sea, forever.

She lived happily on the mainland, found friends and a love interest. But after a month, she was dragged from her bed into the bottom of the sea, by the cold night. She turned into a fossil and began waiting for someone to find her once again.

It took many centuries before a young man found her, when he was diving around in the sea. He dragged her out the water, where on land she turned into a human.

After that they became friends and a few years later married to each other.
