the answers were primarily nos. obviously. the american mindset was carved into all of us with a steel switchblade.
then, the balding man started to state his own thoughts. "really? i believe that you all are not smart enough to choose your own spouses." of course, that was just a paraphrase, yet that was what he conveyed: us millennials are stupid. "divorce rates in america are very high, because young people act too fast on love. i believe that adults should be the ones who decide."
i am plenty smart enough to tie my own shoes and build my own castles, whether for one or for two.
"was your marriage arranged?" one student asked.
"no." then fuck off.
it was the epitome of anger, to be told that i don't know to be careful who i spend my life with.
