or when you feel genuinely satisfied.

for every "good luck" i gave to the other chorus members before they were to take their leave for large group performance evaluation, i received a compliment.

the feeling was surreal. on the bus, a girl said she liked my shirt and thought my messy, curly hair was "pretty."

an honor choir friend, already dressed in her performance garb, said she thought my voice fantastic, as she had assumed i was in the highest choir.

hell, while i was changing in a bathroom stall after gym, one of the girls outside my door complimented both my shoes and my pants.

and for once, they did not make me uncomfortable in my skin.
