i found sight reading to be an agonizingly easy task, one which was fun and took time to learn until it finally clicked.

such is how we started chorus today, on example 29 of the ninth and tenth grade sight reading examples. when it came time for all of us to perform it together, most of the "singing" was composed of my loud, clear do re mis, the rest being incoherent mumbles and humming.

the teacher didn't waste a beat after we finished the first time. "okay, now do it without wren."

i was both taken aback and understanding. it made sense because everybody was consistently lazy in the class, didn't give a crap because it was a crypt course.

listening to them perform it (however poorly) gave me a little insight. maybe i am some sort of leader.
