"Here you go. Kyra is officially yours."
"Yay!" I said, before hugging Kyra.
Kyra licked my face.
"Aw... You're so cute." I said.
"Yes, she is. You know, (y/n), it's kind've like she's our child..." Lyle said, while looking away.
"I guess so. Now, we need to get some things for Kyra." I said.
"Okay."
Lyle and I spent the next hour buying things like dog food, a bed, toys, leashes, etc.
Once we had everything that we needed, Lyle and I decided to get a bite to eat.
"Where should we go?" I asked.
"Well, The World's Buffet is a ten-minute walk away. We could go there." Lyle suggested.
"I don't think we should leave the mall. What about Cameron?" I asked.
"Come on, (y/n), live a little. Plus, Cameron's not the boss of us."
"Well, what about all our dog items? And Kyra?!"
"We'll leave them in the car."
"How? You don't have a key."
"Yes, I do." Lyle said, while pulling out a key.
"How'd you..."
"Master pocket thief." Lyle said with a smirk.
"... Okay then..."
Lyle and I then went to Cameron's car, and, put all the things inside.
"Are you sure it's safe to leave Kyra here?" I asked.
"Don't worry, she'll be fine." Lyle reassured me.
Kyra whined, as I put her in the car, and closed the door.
Lyle then locked the door.
"Now, let's go!"
I sighed.
Lyle and I then walked to The World's Buffet.
While eating, I heard my phone ring.
It was Cameron.
As I reached to answer, Lyle stopped me.
"Don't." Lyle said.
"Why not?" I asked.
"Cameron's probably done now. Do you really want to leave without finishing your food?"
"But-"
I then learned that I missed a call.
Just great.
"Now, let's just sit back, relax, and enjoy a delicious meal." Lyle said, before digging into his food.
Why do I have a bad feeling about this?
Perhaps it's because choosing to stay here will make us face the wrath of Cameron.
... We're screwed...
