"Okay, seriously? Neither of you are up?" Veronica said as she walked into my room and set down three coffees.

"Wait?" I rubbed my eyes and yawned.

"I had to spend twenty minutes picking your lock!" Veronica raised her eyebrows. "It's two in the afternoon!"

"Two in the afternoon?!" Lauren and I both said together, shocked.

"Um, yeah, why do you think I'm so mad at you guys?" Veronica said as she shoved a coffee into my hand.

"Thank you." I smiled.

"Don't mention it." She said as she gave a small smile, still trying to act mad. "You were acting crazy last night, so I understand why you slept until two, but you didn't even go anywhere last night!" Veronica said as she pointed to me.

"Actually, she did go somewhere." Lauren corrected Veronica. "With the one and only, Romeo Beckham." Lauren grinned.

"Where did you go with Romeo?" Veronica asked me.

"Just a play at the theater downtown." I shrugged.

"Oh, that sounds cool." Veronica said, acting weird.

"Yeah I guess it was," I said, uneasy, "How was the dance?"

"It was great, actually." Veronica smiled. "In fact, so great I'm going to go ask Derek to lunch right now."

"You do that." Lauren said as Veronica grabbed her phone and walked out of my dorm room.

"And for you," Lauren said as she stood up. "Sleeping in late is a bad habit of yours, you should really break it." She joked as she went to shut my dorm room door.

"Oh, shut up!" I laughed.

I grabbed my computer off my bedside table and opened it up. I had seventeen missed facetime calls from Nina, and five missed facetime calls from Lydia, and an email from my mom.

I ignored the facetime calls and went straight to my email.

"Harper,
Hey honey, I'm glad to see that things are going well for you in France, we told you that you would like it! And I'm glad to see that you were hanging out with a boy yesterday, was that a date? It sure looked like it! What's his name? Is he sweet? Hope all is well!
Love, Mom."

"What?" I said to myself as I rubbed my sleepy eyes again, trying to see if I read something wrong.

I decided to hit 'reply' and type something short and sweet back.

"Hey mom,
Everything here is going pretty good, I've made some new friends, no boyfriend and I'm not sure what you're talking about. Say hi to everyone back home for me.
Xoxo, Harp."

I pressed send and decided to facetime Nina back since she face timed me seventeen times.

I was hoping she wasn't going to say our dog died or someone was in the hospital as she answered my facetime.

"HARPER. JANE. COLLINS." She yelled.

"What, Nina? Keep it down!" I shushed her.

"I saw the pictures!" She grinned.

"I just woke up, what pictures are you even talking about?" I asked, annoyed.

"The ones of you and Romeo Beckham in your date last night!" She squealed.

"It's not like that, Nina."

"Everyone here is talking about it, it's the buzz of the school I heard, and we haven't even been to school yet! Everyone's freaking!"

"Oh no!" I said as I put my head in my hands.

"This is a nightmare."

"Not for you, you're practically royalty here in New York, even more royalty than you were before you left."

"Stop talking like that, Nina!"

"Will you at least tell me everything that happened?"

"What, Nina, no!"

"Please, don't leave a single detail out!"

"Seriously sto-"

"I can't wait to tell all my friends that my sister is dating Romeo Beckham he's sooooo hot!"

"Goodbye Nina!" I said as I pressed to end the call.

I then decided to call Lydia back too, just because she would call me back if the roles were switched.

"OMG, HARPER!" Lydia yelled as soon as she picked up the call.

"Not you too." I sighed.
