Claire's P.O.V.

*continued*

"Braden, it's me." I say worried. Does he really not know who I am?

"Who?" Braden asks. I look up at Max and give him a worried look.

"What do you remember?" I ask.

"School just started." He says.

"Do you know your name?" I ask.

"Braden Daniel Smith." He says.

"Do you know who they are?" I ask pointing to Max and John.

"Yeah. They're my best friends. Max and John." Braden says.

"You just don't know who I am." I say.

"Yeah." Braden says. Well that's just great! Note sarcasm. I know I should probably be happy he forgot me, I mean he cheated on me, but I think I still have feelings for Braden. But I can't believe he actually forgot me. We went through so much together, and all of that just wiped from his memory. I feel tears well up in my eyes and I feel a hand on my shoulder.

"Claire." Max says softly.

"I-I'm gonna go." I say standing up and wiping my tears away.

"I'm sure he will remember you. Just give him time." Max says.

"I don't think so. But thanks for trying to cheer me up." I say walking away.

"I'll walk you home." Max says.

"No. Take him home." I say as another tear falls down my face.

"Why don't you do it? After a while of talking to you he'll have to remember." Max says. I know I'm not getting out of this so I just agree.

"Come on, Braden." I say.

"Ok?" he says as he stands up. He walks over beside me. And just stares at me.

"What?" I ask.

"Are you crying?" he asks.

"No." I say pulling myself together.

"Did I make you cry?" he asks.

"No." I say. He just continues to stare at me while we walk. "Why are you staring at me?" I ask.

"I just-I'd think I'd remember you." He says.

"What?" I ask.

"You're really pretty." He says. I blush.

"Thanks." I say smiling and looking down.

"Why should I remember you?" he asks.

"What?" I ask.

"I remember Max and John because they're my best friends. All of you seemed really shocked back there that I didn't remember you. Why should I remember? Were we close?" He asks. He really doesn't know who I am.

"W-We used to, uh, um," I stutter, but I can't finish the sentence.

"We used to what?" he asks.

"We were close." I say.

"Were?" he asks.

"Yes." I say.

"What happened?" Braden asks.

"I-I can't talk about it. I'm sorry." I say.

"It was that bad?" he asks.

"Yeah." I say looking down again.
