A/N -  JUST SO THIS WILL GO QUICKER, I WILL DOUBLE UP CHAPTERS. JUST SO I GET IT UPDATED AND CAUGHT UP FASTER.

Bucky hates it when the Avengers wing of the facility is all his, when he is all alone to his own thoughts, and his paranoia, that's what gets him the most when he is alone, the paranoia that creeps in from the corner recesses of his mind and makes him flinch at the shadows. He sits at the bar in the central room nursing a glass of water, he doesn't drink drink any more, it makes him more unpredictable, and it's part of his deal, he stays and rehabilitates, but that means giving up all vices, he can't drink, he can't take drugs (not that he would anyway), he can't kill people, he can't even pick up a gun unless they say so. He takes a breath watching a bead of condensation rolling down the side of the glass from the ice inside it. It's so quiet. Part of him likes it, the assassin side of him finds comfort in it, but his humanity doesn't. He likes noise, even just a little, proof that there is some sort of life around him. And...as if on cue. Bucky snaps his head up hearing talking, one voice he recognises, he's heard that one before, that's Coulson, Bucky likes Coulson, Coulson looks at Bucky like he's Bucky and not the Winter Soldier. But the second....the female's voice, that's new, so he ducks around the corner out of sight before they can see him. Coulson and the girl pass him, and Bucky peers around the corner to watch them go. It's the red hair, long and flowing like fire, she's not the first red head he's seen, there's Pepper and Wanda and Natasha but this red is something more....something more intense, and that's what draws him in, he wants to touch it, to run his fingers through it, to play with it. He peeks out from behind the wall and watches them walk away. His eyes are glued on her till they turn a corner, and he wants to see more, so he follows them. It's something Steve would say was pushing the boundaries of appropriate, but Steve isn't here to tell him that, so he doesn't care, he does it anyway. Coulson shows her to the empty apartment in the same corridor that Steve and Bucky's apartment is on, it's the last empty one in the Avengers wing, and right across from his and Steve's. Think of the wing set up like a pin wheel, a central area which is split with with two semi-circle half rooms, one is a living room, the other a kitchen-slash-bar, and then corridors coming off the centre, there are 8 corridors, 7 of which hold 2 apartments, the last is the way in and out the wing heading towards Banner and Stark's labs, the gun range and armoury, offices, the hanger and the practice area, each apartment is two floors, the lower level has a kitchen, living area, study, and a laundry room, the upper level has a bathroom and 2 master bedrooms with balconies over looking the gardens and grounds. It's pretty cosy for them actually. Bucky likes it, it's very secure. He watches them as Phil opens the apartment door and shows her in. Bucky waits, and wait, but they don't come out and before he knows it, Steve and the others are returning. So he heads off that way instead.

................

Bucky walks into the hanger and heads straight to the jet where the other are disembarking. Tony Stark is off first and already pulling pieces off his suit off, collapsing them into a case at his feet, Tony smirks a little seeing Bucky.

"What've you broken now?" Tony asks noting Bucky's expression, Bucky growls at him.

"Nothing" he answers and passes Tony heading straight to Steve who pulls off his gloves raising an eyebrow at his best friend.

"What's wrong?" Steve asks.

"There's a girl" Bucky answers, Steve raises an eyebrow. "In the empty apartment, there's a girl in there now...."

"So say hi" Wanda offers teasingly as she passes them with Pietro.

"That's how normal people do it" Pietro adds.

"I will hit you" Bucky threatens, his metal arm whirling as he clenches his fist. Pietro knows it's a joke, sort of, surprisingly the twins and Bucky had bonded easily, all of them post-hydra, all of them tricked into believing they were doing good work, all of them now free. Bucky, of course, would hit Pietro, but never with his metal fist, and never purposely maliciously.
