Steve finds Roswell working in her office, sat on the floor, rubbing her head as she goes through a file on her tablet. She's trying to ignore what's going on in the news. She doesn't need that sort of publicity. Not with the life she lives. The target it will now paint on Steve's back. Well is she came clean to him it wouldn't be so bad. Told him about all the monsters, the crazy demon angel stuff. What's to say he will even believe her. That he won't think her crazy. He approaches her and crouches down at her side.

"Roswell, honey" Steve whispers touching her shoulder, she looks up at him.

"Sorry" she offers, he frowns and shakes his head. "I'm not very good at all this.....relationship stuff, I shouldn't have just...."

"No" he stops her sitting at her side. "No, it's unfair on you, to be......" he pauses and looks down. "If this makes us too complicated" he starts. "I understand if you would rather...."

"Steve" she interrupts cupping his cheek, letting his stubble rub against her palm. "I'm not going any where" she assures him. "I just...I didn't think about that side of it, and I should have, you're Captain America....." she wraps her arm around his neck and pulls herself across to straddle his legs. "I guess I forgot, I just....you're just Steve Rogers to me" he smiles and presses his forehead to hers, all he wanted was for someone to see him under the suit, and she does it so easily, she does it subconsciously, seriously, what did he do to deserve this amazing woman? "I overreacted" she admits. "If you want to do the....tv thing, then I can be convinced, if it's what you want" she whispers slightly.

"No" he offers. "No, I wouldn't put you through that" he pulls her closer and kisses the crown of her head. "I don't want to do it knowing it would make you uncomfortable" he adds letting her snuggle closer to him, his arms wrapped around her. "We'll have the press agent release an official statement and that's that...." he pulls back slightly to lift her chin. "I can't promise that you won't be the subject of gossip and...I can't promise that photos and videos aren't going to get out there"

"I know" she whispers. "And it's not like I can lock myself away in the facility forever" he shakes his head in agreement with her.

"No" he agrees before kissing her softly. "Don't worry" he whispers against her lips. "I'll look after you" he promises, she smile and brushes her fingers over the back of his head.

"I know" she repeats warmly, full of adoration.

Roswell and Steve rejoin the others, Roswell feeling a little better about the news, and everything. He kisses her head softly and releases her, letting her decide where she wants to be.

"Did you ask her?" Wanda asks leaning on the back of the couch, Steve shakes his head shooting Wanda a look, Roswell raises an eyebrow as Wanda sinks down slightly.

"Ask me what?" Roswell asks, and everyone suddenly has something way more interesting to do. She looks up at Steve. "Ask me what?" she repeats.

"I was going to bring it up later when you weren't....upset" he starts shooting them all another look. "But...there has been talk about you" Roswell frowns, hurt setting in because these people have been talking about her behind her back. "Joining the Avengers" Steve finishes, Roswell frowns harder.

"Why?" she asks him.

"What do you mean why?" Tony asks behind her, Roswell looks to him.

"I'm just a book worm" she offers.

"You've been training with Nat" Clint counters.

"That's nothing, it's just a little self-defence" Roswell corrects.

"Are you kidding?" Natasha asks. "My hard work is not nothing" Roswell shrugs a little.

"I just don't see it" Roswell tells them. "Sorry guys" she shrugs. "I'm tired so I'm going to bed" she touches Steve's hand before leaving them again, Steve crosses his arms over his chest.

"Well done...." he comments.

"Look it's not our fault her family screwed her up" Natasha points out. "She needs to see how much worth she has....yes, she's smart, crazy smart, and yes she loves to read but that's not everything she can do....Do your job and make your girlfriend feel special" Natasha motions for Steve to follow Roswell.

"She's right" Tony admits slightly popping a blueberry into his mouth.

"Roswell feels inadequate because she was raised to hide what she is" Rhodey adds. "She was raised to hide her powers and that normal people don't do what she can do....hearing that every day for what? 15 years? It makes her feel like...."

"A freak" Bucky finishes looking at Steve who glances to him. "When was the last time any of us saw her using her powers?"

"A while" Steve answers. "She was taking the milk out of the fridge" Bucky looks to the others.

"When she told us" Rhodey answers.

"When she got hit in her face" Tony adds.

"See" Natasha points out. Bucky glances back to Steve to see him gone. "We need to get her used to using her powers around us" Natasha add.
