"We should start getting ready," Taylor announced.

"What time does the bonfire start?" I asked.

"Oh, around 6. By the way, the weather is beautiful tonight."

"Okay, I'll get changed then."

"Me too. Got anything new from your mom's recent trip?" She asked.

"Yeah, she left in my wardrobe. It's near the door." She disappeared into the room and came out with a white bag.

"Cute Reformation dress," Her eyes were wide, as she pulled out the green summer dress. "I'm borrowing it."

"You can have it. You know that." I rolled my eyes.

"I still can't believe your mom buys all these nice clothes and you chose to wear Levis and plain t-shirts all the time." She tutted.

"Dresses aren't my style."

"You can make it your style. You have a great figure. Anything would suit you."

"You're relentless you know that." I chuckled. I joined her in the small room, rummaging through my clothes. I found a plain white tie-shoulder dress which I wore with black socks and black ankle boots. "You happy now?" I sighed.

"Very." She grinned as she looked me up and down.

"This is so uncomfortable. I don't understand how you can wear these." I groaned.

"Quit whining. You look good. Wear these." She pushed a leather jacket into my hands. "Oh, and you won't be needing this." She pulled out the scrunchie from my hair.

"Put this, and this on," she instructed, handing me a bottle of mascara and nude lipstick.

"Great now sit down and don't lick your lips. I just got to touch up my makeup and then we can go."

"Yes, ma'am," I saluted her. I picked up my phone and plugged in a podcast to drown out my best friend's awful humming. I lay back and closed my eyes enjoying the soothing voice of the host. What felt like hours later, Taylor nudged me awake.

"You're lucky your hair is tussled in just the right ways that you sleeping on it doesn't ruin it. Ugh, I'm so jealous." She muttered the last part.

"Tay, let's just get going okay? Which part of the beach do we need to head to?"

"I know the place, I'll drive." She replied. "Ethan, you done stuffing your face?"

We found Ethan eating a sandwich with my brother in the kitchen. They were bonding over some video game or the other.

"Ethan, you want to come?" I asked.

"The bonfire? Sure. I'm only coming so I can keep an eye on you." He winked.

"You're not my babysitter."

"Alright, chill. I'm coming. Mostly because I want to see Daniel. It's been a while."

"I don't know if he'll be there," I told him hesitantly.

"Guess we'll find out."

"Guess we will," I muttered.

We all headed out to meet the rest of the party. By the time we reached the secluded destination, there was a raging fire and a handful of people surrounding it. Music was blasting, and people were laughing while drinking beer.

"Taylor! Glad you could make it." Jamie grinned, giving her a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek. "And you guys too."

"So we're a side note then Jamie?" I raised an eyebrow.
