Haze was definitely surprised by the news she had uncovered, but she wasn't really concerned.

This was Haze, after all.

She just wanted to freak out as many dragons as possible, starting with Boysen.

And, as she had expected, Boysen was easily found in the Conservatory, poking around the paintings on the walls, and skimming the dusty scrolls.

"I have to talk to you!" Haze announced, startling the hybrid out of his trance. A dusty scroll hit the floor, slowly rolling to a stop near Haze's feet.

"Haze!" Boysen exclaimed. "How long have you been there?"

"Long enough to know that you abandon your senses upon entering this room." She grinned. "But seriously though, we need to talk."

"We are talking." Boysen said smugly, grinning at her. Haze rolled her eyes.

"Look, I know this is going to be totally weird, but we actually need to have a serious conversation for once." Boysen's eyes widened.

"Oh dear moons, who died?"

"No one......yet."

"You're breaking up with me, aren't you?" He presumed. "That's literally the only time anyone ever says 'we need to talk'."

"Not true." Haze objected. "There's two occasions."

"Do enlighten me."

"One, you're breaking up with someone. Or two, your girlfriend is pregnant." Boysen paused.

"....Is there a hidden third occasion?" he asked.

"Nope." Haze said bluntly.

"Should I be concerned for my life now?"

"Potentially." A silence settled over them as the news processed in Boysen's head. A slow smile spread across his face.

"Awesome." He whispered.

"Awesome?" Haze echoed. "What about this is AWESOME?" Boysen shrugged.

"I don't know- I just think it's great."

".....Great is not exactly the word I'd use to describe this." Boysen tilted his head.

"Why not?" Haze squirmed.

"I don't know," she insisted. "It's just...." She sighed. "I'm happy about it- I am, but at the same time, I know this is going to cause problems and be weird because we're not married or anything, and I doubt you'd ever want to live here- and my father is just going to lose his mind entirely and all hell will break loose." Boysen stepped closer, smiling at her.

"Haze, relax." He assured her. "Nothing has to be weird if you don't want to be, and your father can get over himself. And I'd be happy to live here if that's what you want." Haze studied his face.

"Would you really?"

"I'd live anywhere in the world as long as you were there with me."

"Oh....well then...." Haze slowly smiled. "Wanna go freak out my dad and maybe get murdered?"

"Absolutely."

So Haze and Boysen weaved their way through the halls of the Stronghold until they finally located Meerkat.

"Hey Dad," Haze announced, barging into the room with Boysen on her heels.

"Haze," Meerkat nodded. "What's up?"

"Clouds." She declared, causing Meerkat to grin.

"Fine. What's new with you?"

"Oh, just one major thing."

"Two." Boysen added. Haze raised an eyebrow in confusion, but shrugged.

"Okay, then two major things." she corrected herself. Meerkat eyed the two of them.

"I'm listening." He insisted.

"I'm pregnant." Haze announced, watching as her father's eyes slowly widened and then turned to glare at Boysen.

"And?" He asked dangerously.

"And we're taking full responsibility for our actions." Haze said boredly. "So you can stop it with the evil eye because Boysen's not going anywhere."

"You think that now, but dragons change." Meerkat advised.

"No, she's right." Boysen insisted. "I'm not going anywhere."

"I don't believe you." Boysen shot him a nervous smile.

"Then maybe this will change your mind." He offered before turning to Haze.

"What are you doing?" She questioned, confused as he took her talons in his.

"Haze," He began. "I love you. You love me. And I know that anything else I say will only make you want to slap me, so I'll keep it simple. Will you marry me?" Meerkat and Haze's eyes widened.

"Hell yes!" Haze declared, gaping at him. Meerkat frowned.

"I don't know about this." He started, but Haze cut him off.

"Too bad, because it's happening, and I'm completely positive that Thorn and Sunny will back me up on this, so MAJORITY RULES, Dad!" She yelled out, then immediately grabbed Boysen and ran out of the room, leaving a shocked Meerkat behind.
