Kabanata 27

"How are you?" Rufus asked. Itinaas ko ang tingin ko sakaniya tsaka ngumiti.

"I'm fine," tapos ipinagpatuloy ko 'yung sinusulat ko.

"What's that?" Tinignan niya 'yung sinusulat ko, I held his has then memories came up to my mind.

Held hands.

"You held Eula's hand, don't you?" Nakita kong nagulat siya.

"Yeah, for some reason. I don't know why did I do that," nagkibit balikat siya tsaka ipinahawak ulit sa akin ang kamay niya. I can sense that he's not nervous at all. Bakit?

"Anyway, I'm writing some key terms. For our exams." Then I handed him my notebook.

"Exams is not going to happen." Damien said. Pareho kaming napalingon aakaniya ni Rufus.

"Why?" Rufus asked, kumunot rin ang noo niya.

"I saw it, black vampires will attack on school."

After Damien stated his vission. We gathered to held a meeting.

"Maraming mamamatay." Damien said.

"Magpapakita ba 'yung leader nila?"

"He's there."

"What about Kristal? Are we going to bring her on the fight?" Vladimir asked.

"Isn't she dead?" Phyra interfered? Patay?

"Gago pinagsasabi mo, buhay 'yon. Masamang damo." Serafino laughed.

After that, we went to bed.

"Amor, brush your teeth." I commanded Amor.

"She's done brushing her teeth, Ate." damien was scrubbing his hair with his towel then walked towards his bed.

"Really? That's good, tulog na." I closed my eyes and thens slept.

When I woke up, the sun is already up. Damien is preparing our breakfast with Rufus.

"Good morning love," he greeted and then kissed my cheek.

"Morning, I'll just brush my teeth." I headed at the bathroom and then brushed my teeth.

"I cooked heart-shaped pancakes only for you." Pagbibida ni Rufus nang makalabas ako ng banyo.

"This is really cringe." Damien stared at the ceiling and then wiped his invisible tears.

"That's sweet," I kissed Rufus on his lips then took a seat.

"Where's Amor?"

"Grandma," Umupo na rin si Damien at Rufus tapos kumain na kami.

"My schedule, love." He's walking beside me and he's staring at me.

"Stop staring, don't call me love. We're at work." I said and then read his schedule. "You're going to attend our class, 8:00AM to  2:00 PM after that, we're going to the orphanage to do a feeding program. Then at 5:00 PM you have to attend the Counsel's meet." I said.

"Give me an acceptable reason why should I stop staring at your beautiful face, love?" He chuckled.

"What the heck, Rufus. They might caught us." Pinanlakihan ko siya ng mata ngunit lalo lang niyang nilakasan ang tawa niya.

"You're too cute, love. Let's go." Nauna na siyang maglakad pero tumatawa pa rin siya. Pasaway.

Our class is boring, our prof just discussed about the topics that might include in our exam.

"Phyra!" I heard Eula called Phyra.

"What the heck do you need?" Phyra irritatedly faced her.

"I just want to be stick with you, to be friends with you." She said, like a puppy.

"Galing ah, best actress," Singit ni Serafino. "I can see what's in your eyes, your powers rather." He said, agad kaming napatingin sakaniya at nagtaka.

"What did you see?" Phyra asked him.

"What is your powers?" Serafino asked Eula again, not minding Phyra's question.

"W-what are you talking about?" She looks confused.

"You can't fool a lawyer, Eula." Serafino smirked. Lumapit si Rufus sakanila para alamin kung anong nangyayari dahil kagagaling niya lang sa library and I arrived here, alone.

"What's happening?" Rufus asked.

"She has a power," Phyra finally figured out, I guess.

"Eli, can you hold her hand?"

Agad akong tumayo para hawakan ang kamay ni Eula ngunit iniwas niya ito.

"What do you think you are doing?!" She exclaimed. I can see fear in her eyes. Aha!

"I finally figured it out." I said before heading back to my seat, I grabbed my bag and then walked towards the exit of the cafeteria. 

"Don't you dare escort them, hindi mo alam kung gaano karami ang makakalaban mo."

"Hey," Vladimir suddenly talked. "What did you see?" He asked.

I just stared at him, not giving him any response. Even in telepathy. Rufus was with Eula in the other car.

"Aren't you scared?" He asked again.

"Where?"

"Of Eula, she can get Rufus from you. Aren't you scared?"

"Of course not, Rufus won't do that. He'll never betray me." I said.

"So what did you see?"

I glanced at the driver who is busy driving and not giving us any of his attention.

I leaned at Vladimir's ear to whisper what I saw.

"Really?!" He looked so shock. "I can't imagine,"

"Even me."

When we arrived at the orphanage, todo lingkis si Eula kay Rufus. She looks so desperate.

"Tignan mo, parang linta." Vladimir pointed at Eula and then laughed.

"Gago oo nga," nag-apir kami tapos lumakad kami papalapit sa van na may lamang mga pagkain.

"Tara na," binuhat ko 'yung isang box na may lamang pagkain para sa mga bata habang siya naman ay dala ang cake na bi-nake kanina ni Ginoong Orpheus kaninang umaga.

"May nuts kaya 'to?" Tanong niya habang buhat ang cake.

"Meron raw," sagot ko. Napailing naman siya tsaka pumalatak ang dila. Allergic kasi siya sa nuts that's why he's not able to eat the dessert.

After namin ilapag 'yung mga pagkain, nagtakbuhan 'yung mga bata papalapit sa'min.

"Hi! Kamusta kayo?" I asked them.

"Okay lang po, Ate Eli!" Sagot naman nila tsaka isa-isang umupo.

Binigay na rin namin 'yung mga pagkain. Nakaupo si Rufus sa center ng table habang nasa tabi niya si Eula. Hindi siya dumidikit sa mga bata.

"Tignan mo," Sabi bigla ni Vladimir, ano nanaman kayang chismis ng lalaking 'to? "Kay Rufus, grabe siya lumingkis, tas sa mga bata halos ayaw dumikit?" He shook his head.

"Hayaan mo na," I laughed at him. No wonder, kahit ako naiinis kay Eula. Not gonna lie.

Rufus walked towards us, I glanced at Eula. She seems so uncomfortable, ang sama pa ng tingin sa mga bata.

"Dude, what's wrong with that girl? Tignan mo, ang sama ng tingin sa mga bata. Parang natatakot tuloy sila." Vladimir pointed at Eula.

"Kaya nga e, hayaan mo siya. Love, what did you saw earlier?" He asked me.

"H-ha?"

"What did you saw earlier, love?" He asked again. I looked at Vladimir and then get back my eyes to Rufus.

"Black magic."
