Chapter 11

"Mommy wakey" Max and Rustle had both snuck into Mayas bedroom at early hours in the morning.

It was nothing new for Maya but for them it was.

"Mommy" Max was on Maya's side of the bed patting the blondes frizzy morning hair whilst Rustle attempted to climb on the bed.

"Max" Max waddled over to Rustle before using his hands to push at his brothers bum to hoist him on the bed.

"Help" it was Rustles turn to help max now that he was on the bed.

Rustle pulled at his brothers arms until the small boy pulled himself up onto the comfort of Maya's mattress.

Andy had spent the day before getting the boys ready for Mother's Day.

They were so excited to be with their mum and give her their gifts.

"Mommy" Rustle crawled over to where the blonde lay, his hand patting the blondes face gently.

"Mommy morning" Maya had a long shift the previous day and was exhausted.

"Hm?" Maya stirred slightly her eyes still welcomed by darkness.

""Mommy" Max whispered placing a kiss to his mother's shoulder.

"Max?" Maya turned and was greeted by the twins.

"Mother's Day mama" no matter how tired Maya was, she still smiled at Rustles comment.

"It is" Maya pulled the cover so Max and Rustle could snuggle in with her.

"Come here" it was early and Andy would be coming over in a few hours, the sleep was needed.

Rustle snuggled into Maya's side as max snuggled into his brother.

It didn't take them long to fall asleep.

"Maya" Andy had a key from when she used to live with the blonde, and had let herself in when she received no reply after standing outside Mayas door for over ten minutes.

"Maya" Andy gently shook the blonde noticing the twins lying beside her fast asleep.

"Hm" Maya opened her eyes again to be welcomed by the light through the windows instead of darkness.

"Andy. Shit" Maya rubbed her eyes before sliding out of bed.

"Why are they in with you?" Andy asked pointing to the two adorable sleeping boys on Maya's bed.

"They got excited and came in" Andy tilted her head smiling softly at the boys.

"Awe" Maya nodded before standing from the bed.

"They woke me up. My turn" Maya turned and launched on the bed her lips peppering kisses on the boys faces.

"Silly" Max giggled as his eyes opened.

"Mommy" Rustle groaned, he was the grumpy morning person.

"You woke me up" Rustle looked at Max and laughed.

"There it is. One of my favourite giggles" Andy stood and watched Maya with her twins.

She couldn't help but feel jealous for the blonde, she had wanted to start a family but the issues with her a Sullivan were no way to bring a baby into the world.

A world that's already ugly and messy as it is.

"Presents" Andy was stood holding a white plastic bag with Maya's presents in it.

"You ready boys?" Andy wiggled her eyebrows at the twins before walking out of the room.

"Let's go!" Rustle carefully rolled out of the large bed Maya slept in, with Max following behind.

"Mama" Max held onto Maya's hand pulling it until she followed them.

Carina was at the hospital.

Mother's Day believe it or not was one of the busiest times of the year.

She had babies left right and centre.

She knew Maya still had a shift today.

They had been talking over the phone since the twins' birthday party.

It was her lunch break now and Carina opted for buying flowers for Maya from the boys.

It didn't take her long to buy the bouquet of flowers and arrive at the station.

"Hi" Vic was at the desk smiling brightly at the brunette.

"Hi vic, are the boys here?"

"They're in the beanery. Mayas on a call though" Carina nodded and walked up the stairs to the beanery.

She rounded the door and caught sight of Max and Rustle.

"Hi" jack had Rustle seated in one knee as Max was seated on the other.

"Hi Carina" Jack was surprised to see the brunette but knew it would probably be happening a lot more.

"These are for you" she kneeled down so she was level with blue eyes.

"Give these to your mommy for me ok and say Carina came by" jack smiled at the gesture from the Italian.

Max nodded his head as did Rustle.

Carina rustled Max's hair before standing.

"Bye jack" Jack smiled at the brunette before saying bye.

"Mama" Maya had just finished her call and walked into the beanery.

Max and Rustle came running over to the blonde a bouquet of gorgeous flowers in Max's hands.

"For you from Rina" Maya furrowed her eyebrows at the name.

"From who baby?" Maya took the flowers.

"C Rina" Max said again causing a smile to spread across Maya's face.

"Carina?" She looked up at jack for help.

He nodded his head.

"For me and Russy to give to you" both boys walked towards the blonde until there arms were wrapped around Maya's legs.

Maya smiled as she looked down at the flowers.

Even when the day had nothing to do with Carina she still managed to do some loving gesture that just made Maya feel stronger emotions.

"I'll be back boys go sit with Jack" they kissed Maya's leg before walking over to the older man.

Maya placed the flowers in a vase and went out into the corridor.

"Hi" Maya smiled into the phone as she spoke to the brunette.

"Hi Bella" Carina responded.

"The flowers"

"Sì"

"You got them"

"I did indeed" Carina couldn't help but smile through the phone as well.

"You didn't have to. I'm not your mum" Carina laughed quietly through the phone.

"I know. I thought it would be nice. You're an amazing mama Maya" Maya rested her back against the wall swooning at Carinas words.

"Thank you"
