43. Veni called?!

As the clock struck 12:30, Jimin couldn't help but worry. "Will she call? Is there any chance she forgot your birthday, Lisa?"

Lisa replied confidently, "No way... even as a five-year-old baby, she used to call me... she used to say she knew some awesome men as appa, but I'm the only mother figure after her late mother... she never..."

Before Lisa could finish her sentence, she received a call from an unknown number. She was sure it was Veni, so she put the call on speaker.

"Lizzzzzzzzzzzzyyyyyy!!! Happy birthday day....!!! Sorry.... I just came from practice.... " A beautiful young girl's voice screamed excitedly over the phone in her English accent from Landon, bringing tears to several eyes in Korea.

"Veni baby!!! Thank you....!! Guess where I am now!!!" Lisa asked Veni to make a guess...

"Where are you, Lizz??!" Veni asked excitedly.

"In Korea!!"

"Huh!! Mwohaseyo, Lizz??! Eotteohge??!" Veni asked, and Lisa, who was still learning Korean, blinked without understanding anything with her pro Korean accent.

"What??!" Lisa asked in confusion.

Jimin leaned in and whispered to Lisa, translating, "She is asking 'what are you doing' and 'how.' "

Jimin couldn't help but whimper as he listened to the more mature Veni speaking in Korean. After all, he had been the one to teach her Korean words when she had started speaking.

Lisa responded to Veni's questions, "Are you askjng how??? Because I got a job here...."

Veni replied with enthusiasm, "Wow!!! Good to hear, Lizz... I miss it there... learn Korean fast... so that I get to speak with you in Hangul... god...! I miss speaking Hangul..."

Lisa remarked, "You're good with Hangul for someone whose mother tongue is Italian..."

Veni explained, "I speak Hangul with my appa here... and back then I had a great teacher... my Jiminie appa...!! Do you remember?? My appa... i showed you the picture....??! " Veni said casually, causing Jimin to shut his mouth tightly to keep from whimpering and letting his emotions affect Veni.

Lisa changed the subject, asking.. " What are you doing?? Where is Taehyung shi??" But Veni heard some whimpering noice around Lisa..

"Lizz, who is with you... I hear some funny noises?"

Jimin and Kookie exchanged worried glances, unsure of how to respond to Veni's inquiry about their presence.

Lisa explained, "My friends are here... I'm in a resort..."

Veni was curious, "What are you wearing, it's your birthday... you mudt be wearing something special.... after all you are a fashion queen..??!"

Lisa responded enthusiastically, "Can you come on video call... I'll show you my dress.."

However, Veni hesitated and explained, "Huh...?! I need to ask permission... but... Appa... Tae appa is sleeping... he is not well..."

Kookie's heart sank at the mention of Taehyung's illness, and he urged Lisa to inquire further. But before Lisa inquire anything, Veni said..

Veni then said, "Wait... I'll ask Joonie uncle...." She took some time to reach another room to ask for permission. Kookie made a mental note that Agent June and Mr. Broad Shoulders were with Taehyung in his home.

Veni finally returned, saying, "He said OK if it's you... wait... I'll call you once I reach my room..." She ended the call, leaving everyone in anticipation.
