Authors that write like historical Shakespeareans

It's been a while since I updated this travesty.

Now I think you're wondering what does the title mean for this part? Writing like poets and Shakespeareans??! Ya there's been countless of AO3 authors that just add way too much literature, analogies, similes, metaphors in their fanfics and I mean that's great you can write so much detailed stuff but you'll just lose readers with the amount of details in every sentence, paragraph and big words that people don't even know.

If people prefer those types of complex reading stories where 90% of the fanfic is crazy fancy figurative language in every paragraph than I'm not judging. From base experience, and even a lot of best time sellers have written more simpler language. It's proper to do so if you're writing fiction.

Writing should also take into account it's audience

Writing should also take into account it's audience. You aren't going to write a technical book about quantum mechanics designed for experts in the field and use high level terms and explanations. It would almost be insulting to the experts' intelligence who decide to pick up and read the book. On the same token, you don't want to fill a book with a ton of low level technical talk and jargon in a book designed for beginners who lack any in-depth understanding.

I don't know if I want to show examples.

Fuck it I'll show examples.

It looks good right? Very good on the level as my mind sort of blanks out trying to decipher this

It looks good right? Very good on the level as my mind sort of blanks out trying to decipher this. And I'm not saying anything wrong as to write constant big words and literature. Do I really understand some of this, yes I do but you have to take account that not everyone cares about high end figurative speeches that are constantly brought into every paragraph.

Same fanfic and chapter. The entire story is written complex like this btw.

As much as this is a godly fanfic but if it was written in simpler terms of words with less figurative speech, it would've probably have been more enjoyable

Good examples of less figurative languages and easy to follow stories.

Now I can understand this

Now I can understand this. Less figurative speech and my head isn't doing 360s wondering what the hell is does this or that means and continuing. These are easier to follow and not too simple or complex. Just set right.

Here's another good example. Different fanfics here

These do have good amounts of details still while keeping it simplistic for the readers to follow

These do have good amounts of details still while keeping it simplistic for the readers to follow. Neither are too simplistic but still keeping it detailed for us readers from expressions, movements and their surroundings. This is what I love to see and read.

I could not care for such figurative languages cladding your book in such fancy ways to make your story more complex. Many readers including myself will just read over the lines and half ass wonder what was even said.

I'm not even judging anymore, I used to feel so jealous of authors that can do it, sometimes I still am! It's just not that suited for fanfiction if I'm being super completely honest here. Especially this fandom that already suffers enough from illiteracy from the manga and anime. I can't imagine them reading complex writing. Even my brain completely feels fried every time this fanfic writer updates her Sukuna story.

But yk what you don't have to listen to me, this is my opinion to keep my audience from growing bored of constant figurative speeches that not everyone can understand and break down what some phrases mean

I've been told by other people to tone my older books down from big words and complex language I was using. It was not cute. Anyway, y'all can continue your day.
