You looked up at the large skyscraper looming above you, taking a deep breath you took out your id and walked up to the entrance and through the doors. This was the place that a great many actors had been cast for all sorts of roles in all manner of movies and TV shows. But you, you were only here to audition for one of those TV shows. The Walking dead. The first time you read the comics you fell in love with the series and was delighted when they made a TV show following the journey of the survivors in the zombie apocalyptic world that you had come to love so much.

You had read online that they were casting for a few new characters which would be making an appearance in Season 7 of the show. You had practically begged your mum to let you go down and audition.

Your hopes were however shrinking by the second as security checked your id and you walked into a room filled with girls who were auditioning for the exact same role as you were. When you got the email saying you had passed the first round of auditions and were welcome to come along to the final one you thought that you were going to be up against at most 10 or 20 girls but in this room there was closer to 50. Taking your seat a lump formed in your throat as you looked down at the number you had been given 43. There were 42 girls in front of you that had auditioned, by the time your turn comes around the writers that decide if you of the role would probably already have found the person they wanted. You slumped back in your chair feeling defeated as girls were called in, the number of people in the room growing smaller every time.

Three hours later it was you turn to go in, they called your name and you walked to the door you heart hammering in your chest. As you walk through the door you see the cast members of the show sitting in a row. They had to read a dummy script with you to see how you and the other characters worked together, to see if there was the right amount of chemistry and if it was believable. Google had been you best friend since you got the email saying you made the final auditions, you had made sure that you knew what was going to happen in the audition and, what your character was going to be like.

The cast members introduced themselves along with the writers and the producers of the show before they handed you a script and said a page number. Opening the script you knew it was a dummy, written up for the purpose of the audition they wouldn't let people read what was really going to happen, it would ruin the show for others if that information was leaked. Scanning through what you were asked to read quickly you looked up to see chandler Riggs looking at you with interest. As soon as your eyes met he looked away and the writer cleared his throat signalling that he was ready for the reading of the script to begin.

You read lots of sections of the script with many scenes between your character and chandlers signifying that they would most likely be friends. You were sure that your audition had lasted at least twice as long as each of the other peoples and you were right.

"Well you seem to have mastered this characters nature completely, you have passed every test we have put you through and we are willing to offer you the job if you feel that the role is for you" said the director of the show.

"I would be delighted to play a part in such a fantastic show!" you said not quite believing what had just happed.

"Brilliant we will be in contact with your parents to settle the contract considering the fact that you are under 21" he continued.

You couldn't express how happy you where, you had been watching the show since it came out and now you were going to be a part of it. For however long that would be. After the news that you were now a member of the walking dead cast the people came down to talk to you. Andrew Lincoln came up to you and patted you on the shoulder.

"it's going to be a pleasure working with you, you've impressed everyone today this character is right for you. Well done!" he said with a smile.

The actors all greeted you and told you how exited they are that you are now a new member of the TWD family. Finally Chandler Riggs came up to you.

"Hey" he said with a small smile, you knew that he was shy.

"Hey I look forward to working with you" you replied out stretching your hand he shook it.

"So I'm guessing your real name isn't 43" he said again with a small shy smile his hair falling in front of his eyes.

"No it's not my name is Mackenzie" you replied with a small laugh.

"Well Mackenzie I look forward to working with you on set in a week" he said becoming less and less shy by the minute.

"So do I! I've been a massive fan of the show pretty much since it came out!" you replied realising that you had just let out your inner fangirl in front of chandler.

"that's actually pretty cool! I love the comics but I have a feeling that many of the girls that auditioned today didn't really care about the show. They only wanted to take their shot at getting famous" he replied.

"Oh that's horrible!" you said thinking back to all the girls in the waiting area.

"Yeah, have you read the comics?" he asked as you noticed many of the other actors were now leaving.

"Yep all of them that have been released" you replied.

"Well I better get going or they will leave me behind" he laughed as he turned to look at the others.

"Yeah then you would be stuck with me!" you replied jokingly as his eyes met yours.

"I don't think that would be so bad..." he replied not looking away.

You felt something in that moment something deep in your heart, you liked him. Your heart hammered in your chest as he looked away back towards the others.

"I should go..." he said turning to leave before turning back. "Goodbye Mackenzie" he said with a smile before turning once again to leave.

You watched him walk away and you wanted to kick yourself. You had seen him on the show so many times, sure he was easy on the eyes but back then you were just watching him on a TV screen. Now you had met him in person and you were going to be on the show to. Never did you think that meeting him would solidify those feelings. You shook your head as though it would help get rid of the feelings but as you walked away you couldn't help but think about the look on his face as he left. Could he? No. but what if he did? You sighed as you left the building, you will just have to find out in a weeks' time when you see him again. And you had a feeling it was going to be a long week.
