A/n: some of you mfs figured out one of the plot twists already. But I bet you bitches won't see some of these other things I have coming up coming.

A news report on Kira's sudden spike in killings played in the background of the hotel room. The killer in question busy writing names.

The Akita region of Japan. A far distance from Tokyo. That's were they hid. Misa was busy at her laptop, brain hard at work. Once she touched the book and got her memories back, a detail popped up that made her connect a dot or two. Deities being created after a human dies tragically.

"You've been awfully quiet" Light spoke up.

"I'm trying to find something..." Misa replied.

Light looked over her shoulder, seeing your name in the search engine followed by the keywords obituary and death.

"Why are you looking for (y/n)s death, we haven't even killed her" Light asked.

"Well we know she's a deity. I don't think she can be killed right? That's a rule. I remember rem telling me that deities are created when a human dies a tragic death. I wanna know how she died, maybe that can help up place all these supernatural details together..."

Light was actually rather impressed. Misa could actually be smart when she wanted to, though her daily attitude did stay a lovesick slight airhead.

"Ah-ha! Winchester historical cemetery established 1698"

She clicked on the page, Light leaning down to read along with her.

"The largest memorial grave is that of (y/n) (l/n) born 4th of March 1687. She was mere days away from marrying the love of her life when an argument broke out between her sister and her sisters husband which caused her to get stabbed in the crossfire. The wound right to the heart was too severe to survive and she died in the arms of her husband on the 30th of October 1703. Her sister was killed mere moments later after she ran to get the town doctor and police by her still enraged husband. The husband was arrested and charged with two counts of murder ams sentenced to life. (Y/n)s husband famously showed up at the trial screaming insults in tears at the murderer. He was famous for yelling 'I'll get you in another life, you can't escape my wrath' as the murderer was escorted from the court room to prison. Her husband funded this memorial grave and had her sister buried next to her. His dying wish was to be buried with his wife to be and lies at rest in the same grave. He died at age 56, 29 years after the death of his wife to be, never recovering from the depression" Misa read aloud.

An uncomfortable silence fell over the room for a moment as the details sunk in.

"Wow... thats quite the murder case..." Light said.

"Thats tragic... her poor husband..." misa sighed.

She scrolled to pictures of the memorial, pulling them up full screen. The headstone a large block of stone with a statue of an Angel on top. Plaque engraved with the name, date of birth and death and a message underneath.

Rest easy my love, may we find each other in another life.

"That must be from her to be husband, man how much did this all cost back then..." Light said.

"Look, there's the sisters grave"

Alexis (l/n).
1674- 1703
Deserving of true love, never revived it.

"Alexis... I wonder if she ended up a deity too" Misa said.

"What exactly counts as a tragic death, being stabbed and dying in the arms of your true love seems to do the trick since she's a deity. But Alexis was killed on the street from the sounds of things, so it's arguably not as tragic as having to look your lover in the eye as you die" light questioned.

Misa zoomed in on the other plaque slightly off to the side of the main one. Reading the engraving.

"Here lies Elle Lamont
Beloved husband, brother, son.
1686-1742.
May you find your lover once again, and your sorrows be banished"

"Hold on... what's his name?" Light said.

"Elle Lamont. Isn't Elle usually a girls name?"

Gears began to turn in Lights mind. That name sounded too familiar to be a coincidence when you're the one involved. It suddenly hit him like a truck.

"Misa... it's not pronounced 'ell-ly' it's pronounced L. Her past life husband was a one of L's past lives!" He exclaimed.

"N-no... can't be. That's too convenient"

"No it makes sense! That's why she came down here to protect him! She's still in love with him. We know that he knows of her being a deity, I saw her wings when L was in the room with her. They were talking about the death notes. L definitely knows everything, they're probably back together after all these years because Kira got the attention of the deities and L took the case. Elle Lamont is a past life of L's. The only reason she doesn't have a different name now is because she was turned into a deity from her life as human (y/n). L died of old age at the time and kept reincarnating as a human with slightly different names" light explained.

They gave each other shocked looks, this was some groundbreaking information for them.

"Would it be possible Lamont is still his last name?" Misa asked.

"I doubt it. But maybe we can find names similar to it, or names that mean the same thing in other to find his current last name, that could lead us to his first name and we can finally get rid of him" Light said.

It sounded crazy, but digging into past lives could actually work in their favour. If they tracked down the current incarnate of all the people involved it could lead to finding out Ls real name. Little did they know it wouldn't do anything, and in fact was already out there as L's mythos as a deity was starting to circulate the art world and witchcraft covens. But they wouldn't pay any attention to art or witchcraft so the chances of them seeing it that way were slim.

"Look into the trial of her murderer and her sister. Alexis could be an Alex or something today. Maybe even a completely different name that means the same thing. And find out about her murderer" Light instructed.

"On it" Misa replied.

Opening a new tab she searched up (y/n) (l/n) murder 1703, hoping there was some record of it. With such a big memorial grave there was bound to be something out there. And sure enough in a few historical record sites, she managed to find something.

Lucian Yannick, the man with no heart that murdered his own wife and her soon to be wed sister. Dubbed the heartless killer.

Exactly what she needed, every little detail of the murder that could bring up answers.

"Bingo, I got you know..."
