I woke up the next morning ready for the day. I did my morning routine and got downstairs. I made a protein shake while frying some eggs in the pan. I had already made toast. "You're happy" Ndiphile said coming into the kitchen. I turned yo her, "Well it's a good day today." I could feel my cheeks hurting from smiling too wide.

"You got some" she said and picked up a slice of toast. "Don't, not until everyone gets here." I slapped her hand holding the toast. "And what do you mean I got some?" I continued frying the eggs. "Oh nothing", she sang out. "Mxm" I poured the eggs on a plate. "Ouch" I rubbed the spot she hit on my forehead, "Don't mxm me".

She continued to grab the same slice of toast and she shoved it in her mouth before I could react, "Sies!" She just dismissed me with a wave of her hand. She proceeded to grab a glass and pour orang juice in the glass. She drank the juice and placed the cup in the sink. "The least you can do is rinse the damn cup"

"Eh" she shrugged her shoulders, she always knew how to irk me. I finished cooking just as Dabs walked in, with Tanci following behind her. "Good morning" she gestured for me to bend down then she kissed my forehead and gave me a pat on the back, Tanci kissed my forehead too. "This looks yummy" she said

"I made it" I said with a smile. "Thank you sthandwa Sam" her smile showed her appreciation and that warmed my heart, mother never really spent any time with us so this feeling was one I wanted to last forever. We sat down and had breakfast while discussing our plans. Time had passed by and it was now nearing 07:20 am which meant that traffic would be a hassle.

"I'm going to be late." I stood up from the table, grabbing my plate and glass. "Zishiye, uNdiphile will clear the table. You go get ready." Dabs said making me smile. Ndiphile was pouting, "How can you detest cleaning yet you're a girl? Hmm mm Phile, you should actually come back to the kingdom with us and participate in cleaning it. Then is when you'll see that this house is nothing."

"But I said nothing Dabawo moc" Ndiphile whined out. "That pout said it all for you" she was shocked. I ran up the stairs and quickly showered. I got dressed while checking the time, I left the house at 07:40am, after kissing Dan's cheek and fist bumping Tanci. I few my things in the car and drove off to school. I got to school at 08:20 which mean I'm late. I always kept extra glasses in my glove compartment so I took them out of the case and wore them, the school grounds were deserted, indicating just how late I was.

I fetched my late slip and walked to class. Lucky for me the class was English so I didn't mind as much, I knocked on the door and entered. Everyone turned to stare at me, I paid them no mind and walked up to Ms Klass, gave her my slip and she nodded me to my chair. I sat down and took my books out, all the while not paying attention to the girl beside me. A few moments later, she slid a file in my direction. I turned to her in question, my eyes staring at every intricate and delicate feature on her face.

"Notes from yesterday's lessons." She hadn't looked at me. "Thank you" she nodded her head. Class continued and soon enough the bell rang. I moved to my next class; physics. I was one if the first learners to arrive. The door was opened and a tall lanky man came out, "Enter" he said and we walked in. Everyone was talking throughout the lesson. He, the teacher, couldn't care less. I chose to catch up on my work and do tomorrow's work too.

The day passed by quickly, the final bell rang and I walked to the locker rooms. "Hey!!!" The guys cheered when I walked in. "Yo" Jason greeted me with our signature handshake. We walked to our lockers that were side by side.  I changed while everyone filled me in on what I had missed. You're absent for a day and you miss a whole month's worth of news and work. We went to the field and began our warm ups.

Mid warm up we heard some cheering and loud shouts. Everyone stopped what they were doing and began to stare, I eventually stopped to and watched. It was the Drummies, walking into our field with their coach. "Coach, I'm afraid you're gonna have to leave. This is the rugby field. Not the gym" One of the guys said. "We've booked this field for the next two weeks." Coach Sammy said.

We all turned to our coach, "What do you mean Samantha. There are three more fields, why choose this one?" He said.

Coach Sammy walked forward. "Because I wanted to." She stepped back, "And because my girl need to know how wide the field is and prepare for the opening season. Or have you forgotten about that?" She sounded smug.

"Coach?" He hadn't said a word but if looks could kill, Coach Sammy would be dead by now. "Now if you don't mind. Run along" she said and turned to the drum majorettes. "Okay girls! Let's get started" we had to move from the field.

"Boys"

"Yes coach." We answered back, "You are dismissed, I need to have a chat with Samantha. "Yes coach!" We got our things. I was on my way out of the field when a certain Afro haired girl ran into the field. I couldn't help but stare at her. She paid no mind to me and focused on her coach. I had to leave unfortunately because only one team should be in the field unless its game day.

I changed unto my casual clothes and walked out of the school, on my way home I stopped at a Engine garage and bought Krispy Kremé donuts. I drove home while munching on the goodies. Since I had no practice that day, I was home at 3pm. I got my gym bag out and took my clothes up to the laundry room, I sorted my clothes according to the whites and colours. I ran back to my car to fetch the rest of my things. I placed the box of donuts on the kitchen table and proceeded to my room.

I placed my things on my bed, took my laptop out and plugged it in the charger, charged my phone and opened the windows for fresh air. I went back to the laundry room and threw my white shirts in the washer, I added the soap and let the water fill the tub. I set it on wash for thirty minutes and went out for a bottle of water.

Me being home early meant that I'd find the house empty so I turned the TV on and opened a rugby channel. I drank my water while watching the highlights. Soon after, my timer went out and I went up to finish my laundry. I placed it on the washing line and went back in the house for a snack. The sight in front of me was enough to traumatise me. "Ndiphile!" I shouted at my sister who was butt naked on the countertop, the stranger in between her legs stood up and covered them both with his body.

I ran upstairs and locked my bedroom door when I got in. I couldn't gt the image of my sister's naked behind out of my mind. I grabbed my phone and opened up Netflix, even then, I couldn't get the image out of my mind. I decided to just exercise. I stayed up in my room until someone knocked on the door. "Ndiyeza".

I opened the door and found the culprit holding a plate of goodies in hand, " Can I come in?" I opened the door wider and let her in. "Are you not cold?" I just shook my head. "I got you these." I took the plate from her hands and placed it on my study table. "I wanna apologize baby bro" she came closer and sat on my bed. I stood up and moved from her which resulted in her staring at me weirdly. "Haai how do I know you bathed after that trauma you caused my eyes?" She flicked me off. "Ngubani lankwenkwe phof? (Who is that boy?)"

"Ayonkwenkwe. Yindoda lamntu. (He's no boy. He's a man.)" She said and crossed her arms.

"Mmm what ever you say Nkosazana. Phof uzamthini because wea unomntu ozomchada? (What are you doing with him because you are betrothed to someone?)"

"Argh. Let me live my life marn. What their royal behinds don't know will not hurt them." She shrugged like it didn't matter.

"You know what, you are old enough to know what's right and what's wrong sisi. I won't stop you from living your life. Just know that I got your back." I realised that fighting her will do more harm than good. She's stubborn headed, just like her mother.

"Aww baby bro. I love you too." She pulled me roughly into her arms. "Haai! Uvasile? Undibamba kangaka!" She just laughed. We spent the evening just chatting and catching up. "You know what pisses me off?" I was about yo answer when the door opened and dabs appeared. "Dinner's ready"

"Enkosi Dabawo" we went downstairs and had a lovely dinner. But in the back of my mind, I couldn't help but think of a certain afro puffed girl.
