I rummage through my locker.
"Where are they?!" I exclaim as I groan.
"Where's what?" Kenny asks.
"The flowers I got for Mary! It's her birthday!" I cry out.
"Calm down. Here, I'll go buy you some." Kenny rubs my back.
"Ken, you don't have to. I'll just get her more tomorrow." I pat his head. He laughs and goes to his locker. I slam my locker shut and groan.
Mary walks up to me. "Happy birthday!" I exclaim.
"Aw, thank you. It means a lot." She smiles.
I nod. "Y/N!" I hear Squints exclaim. He waves me over. I jog over.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"Wait- who's he?" I scoff.
"Yeah, yeah, that's what we were worried about." Yeah-Yeah sighs.
"Remember the boy, Benny 'the Jet' Rodriguez, that we told you about, what moved away last year?" Kenny leans on the lockers. I nod and listen closely.
"Well, basically, he's back." Scotty tells me.
"Woah." I look back over to see this 'Benny' kid walking over to us. He nods his head.
"Who's the chick?" He stands next to me.
"Friend of a friend." I smirk.
"Ah, yes." He laughs. I giggle.
"I'm Y/N, part of the baseball team." I put my hand out. He shakes it.
"I'm Benny, glad to have another team member." He nods. I nod, too.
"Y/N!" The popular girls shout.
"Fuck me," I mumble. "What?!" I exclaim as I turn my head to them and put my arms up.
"Woah. Who's this hottie?" Mindy smirks. I gag.
"As if! Go get a life!" I groan and walk away. Benny catches up with me.
"Popular girls, eh? They're feisty." He laughs.
I nod in agreement. "Hell, yeah, they are."
"Hey, what's your schedule?" He asks.
"Uh," I grab out my schedule for school. "I have math first." I groan. He chuckles.
"Well, me too. You're gonna have to get used to me." He chuckles.
I nod. "I sure will."
