AS SOON AS the trio of rather traumatized demigods had gotten back onto the Agro II, Angel and Nico took their leave without so much as a word or even a look at anyone else with Angel guiding Nico away from the deck and below to Angel's room. Everyone was rather confused at the lack of input by the two, but Jason made sure to try his hardest at keeping the attention onto him and ignore or dodge any questions about what had happened along with making sure no one bothered Nico and Angel. He knew that those two had gone through way more than he could ever hope to understand back at Dioletian's Palace, knew that they needed alone time in order to process it all. So Jason did the only thing he could, support them and give them the space they needed.

But there was a larger part of Jason that was admittedly terrified that this would be it. That him being around and him being associated with such a memory would ruin any chance he had at becoming friends with Angel and even Nico, now. The realization of his feelings for Angel was something that he never expected to happen though the moment that he came face to face with it, he realized that he's held that for a long time.

As long as Jason could remember, which admittedly was only a couple of months back, Angel was his only tether to his old life. Angel was the one person that Jason could remember for a fact, the one person that kept him grounded throughout his entire first quest to free Hera. He became something of a lifeline to Jason during that period of his life only to feel some sort of betrayal in the fact that Angel wasn't even Roman as he had been led to believe from his brief memories of him. He should have realized that if he remembered him, if even the all-powerful Hera, couldn't make Jason Grace forget Angel Griffin, there was no way whatever he had felt towards the Griffin boy was friendly.
