THE STAIRS WENT ON FOREVER, they were stupidly narrow and steep and Angel felt like if he went down them any faster than at the slow pace they were going, he would have slipped. It was completely dark and if Angel's vision had not been used to adapting to such conditions, he would have been fucked. Luckily, Percy seemed to give them the slightest bit of light from his sword, it was faint, but it was light nonetheless.

Mrs. O'Leary seemed to be the happiest and most in her element out of the four of them as she bounded ahead of them without a moment's hesitation. Her loud, happy barks of excitement echoed throughout the tunnel almost like cannon fire and Angel was happy that they weren't attempting at being stealthy, if they were, they would have failed a long time ago. They didn't have to worry about it, Angel knew well that Hades was already well aware of their arrival, though that thought didn't make him all the more relaxed.

Angel and Nico were lagging behind as Nico was hesitating more and more with each step he took getting slower. Angel was beside him, making sure he kept moving as Angel knew better than anyone just what was on the line here. He knew why Nico was hesitating and suddenly doubting the plan his father had laid out of them.

Angel knew that Hades wasn't lying in his promises to them, he didn't sense anything of the sort. But that didn't stop the doubt that bubbled in his stomach. Though he tried his best to push it aside as he knew that this was the only way for Nico to get the information he's been searching for. He knew that no matter how much his gut was telling him to not go along with this, no matter how much Percy may be at risk by them going through with this, the thought of Nico getting that closure about his past pushed all those worries aside. Nico's happiness would always be his top priority above everything else, he would see that Nico got what he wanted, no matter the consequences they may face in doing so.
