THE NEXT MORNING when Angel returned to camp, he realized he had missed a lot during his night away in the forest. Apparently around three in the morning a Aethiopian drakon had been spotted at the borders of camp. Very exciting, right? Angel was slightly shocked to hear about it as he hadn't heard a thing and he has slept outside, then again he had spent most of last night wrapped up in himself so it wasn't all that shocking that he hadn't heard anything. But it seemed like the Apollo cabin had it covered with Lee leading a couple of his siblings in pursuit, Will being one of the judging by the bags under his eyes, showing he didn't sleep a lot last night. And after a few dozen arrows lodged in the chinks of the drakon's armor, it got the message and withdrew.

"It's still out there," Lee warned them during announcements. "Twenty arrows in its hide, and we just made it mad. The thing was thirty feet long and bright green. It's eyes—" he shuddered.

Angel almost felt bad as he saw the genuine fear in his eyes.

"You did well, Lee," Chiron patted him on the shoulder. "Everyone stay alert, but stay calm. This has happened before."

"Aye," Quintus said from the head table. "And it will happen again. More and more frequently."

The campers murmured among themselves and Angel picked at his breakfast, not quite eating anything before he froze as he felt gazes peirce into the side of his head. He could hear his name muttered among the Demeter and Hephaestus cabins.
