DISTANCE WAS A WEIRD AND CONFUSING CONCEPT IN THE LABYRINTH, something Angel didn't understand, nor did he really care to understand it. All that he understood in that moment was that Nico was holding on to his hand, gripping it as they ran side by side. The touch was enough to make him ignore the sickening feeling in his stomach and the ache in his legs. The one thing it didn't stop was the confusion, if distance was supposed to be shorter in the labyrinth, how came he just felt like he just ran across the country?

They soon climbed up and out of the Marriott basement and stood on the sidewalk basking in the bright summer daylight, squinting at the traffic and crowds. Angel let a smile grace his lips as he fell back in love with the familiar atmosphere. He liked life at the ranch, he liked the peaceful life and daily routine. But he couldn't deny he was in love with the New York way of life, addicted to the thrill of Camp Half-blood and the dangers that came with it. Nothing could beat home.

As Percy led the way into an alley, Angel felt Nico's hand slip from his causing his smile to twitch as he glanced towards him, finding Nico's eyes wide and unable to look back at him as he stared at the back of Percy's head like it was the most interesting thing in the world just to avoid looking towards Angel. Angel blinked, feeling his heart sink as he looked away from him as well, his attention being stolen by Percy, who whistled as loud as he could, five different times.
