(A/N, I'm back after my break :) it was a good call, too, i feel much better and am ready to get back into this whole writing shit. happy reading!)

Citrus tastes of grapefruit and tinges of blood hit my lips as I gasped awake.
"Cleo?"

"Yes, babydoll, I'm here."

Cleo pulled back and lightly ran a hand down my chest to my stomach.

"I'm- I'm all...woozy,"

Her hand stopped at my wound.

"You have strange reactions to the things I'm giving you."
"A doctor w-wouldn't hurt," I muttered.

She pushed me back onto my pillow and sat up straighter.

"I was going to go out to get my bag today, but I'm going to have to stay with you, aren't I?"
I tried to nod but it came out in a cough.

"Adverse drug reaction." She stated.

I rubbed my head. "You never told me what you put inside of me that day."

"You were bleeding out and I needed you to stop choking on your own blood,"

"St...start talking now, then." I mumbled, closing my eyes.

"The black liquid was fermented vampire tears." She answered.
"Excuse me?"

"I was told it worked for healing large injuries,"
"From who? A human hating vampire?" My eyes snapped open again.

"I stole someone's pharmacy-"
"You stole someone's medication?" I finished.
"Exactly." Cleo smiled softly, innocently.

"What if they died? Cleo!"
"Not my problem anymore, is it?"

"I guess not..." I sighed and closed my eyes again. "Is it your vulnerability?"

"What do you mean?" She asked.
"You barely ever cry, do they heal because you get vulnerable? Like magic."

"I'm not sure how it works. I stole it. I've just heard about it." She answered.
"Where?"

Cleo paused, "Online."

"That's a first." I whispered, mostly to myself.
"Why the hell are you ever on the internet?"

"I could ask myself the same thing." She mumbled.

"God, I feel horrible." I whispered.

The cool temperature of the back of Cleo's hand pressed against my cheek.
"We'll figure it out, promise."

"That's reassuring." I grumbled.

"As long as you've been taking your vitamins,"

"Don't you dare," I glared. Somehow, I knew what she was going to do.

Cleo bit into her arm and grabbed a spoon.

"Where the hell did that come from?"

She didn't answer, instead smiled and twirled it around before loading her blood onto the spoon, then put it up to my lips.

"I might never forgive you for this,"

It was a half joke.

I only slightly parted my lips before she shoved the utensil into my mouth.

After finishing I let out a harsh cough.
"I really don't understand the appeal."

"Is it that bad?"

"I'm not going into detail,"

A mildly uncomfortable silence filled the room for a few seconds.

"Can I ask you something?" I questioned, looking over at her.
I tried to sit up but failed.
