Sophia's POV
I felt someone run their fingers through my hair.
I sighed and got even more comfortable. I was warm, I felt safe, and I didn't want to wake up.
Not yet.
"Good morning, baby," I heard Alex's soft voice.
He kissed my forehead and rubbed my back gently. I furrowed my eyebrows. I was sure that I was with Damien before I fell asleep.
Was it just a dream?
My heart clenched painfully. I didn't want it to be a dream. I wanted it to be real.
"Come on, baby," Alex mumbled. "Open your eyes."
He caressed my cheek and I frowned. I heard him chuckle quietly.
"I didn't know you were a sleepyhead," he said as he pinched my cheek gently.
I sighed and opened my eyes slowly. Alex smiled.
"Hi," he said as he leaned in and pressed a kiss on my forehead. "Good morning."
I mumbled something that resembled a hello and Alex laughed.
"Yes, well, hello to you too," he said, shaking his head at me. "Did you sleep well?"
I looked around instead of answering him. We weren't in the living room anymore. We were in my bedroom.
"I brought you here from Damien's room," Alex said, making me look back at him. "You fell asleep there."
My eyes widened. So, it wasn't a dream?!
But then another thought came to me and I tensed up. Alex didn't want me to see Damien. Was he angry at me?
"I am sorry," I mumbled, my voice trembling slightly. "I had to..."
"Don't apologize, Sophia," Alex interrupted me. "I know that I said some pretty harsh things, but I understand why you did it."
He did?
He gave me a small smile and caressed my cheek.
"He is your brother too," Alex continued quietly. "I am pissed as fuck at him, but I won't stand in your way if you want to have a relationship with him."
I studied his face for a second.
"But if he hurts you again, I will never let him near you again," Alex continued before I could say anything. "He is on very, very thin ice with me right now."
Alex clenched his jaw and I saw anger flash in his eyes.
"With all that being said, I don't really mind you being with him, I guess," he continued before I could say anything. "Just please don't leave me like that again. I almost had a heart attack when I woke up."
He leaned in and kissed my forehead again.
"I am an old man," he said with a hint of amusement in his voice. "You have to go easy on me."
I chuckled and shook my head at him.
"You are not old," I said.
"I am 32, Sophia," Alex said, smirking a little. "I am ancient."
I snorted and rolled my eyes at him. I tensed up slightly. Would he get offended because I rolled my eyes at him? I was a bit surprised when he laughed.
"Do we have a deal then?" he asked after he stopped laughing. "You won't leave me like that again?"
I relaxed immediately. He wasn't angry at me. I smiled and gave him a small nod.
