JANET POV
I was sweeping up the salon, after finishing all the customers, getting ready to close up.
I heard the front door open, and I looked seeing it was Sienna and all I could do was sigh.
Because what now?
She had her arms folded as she walked in, and she said "I need to talk to you."
I looked at her for a moment before asking, "Is Trevante okay?"
"Yeahs his bitch ass is just fine." She said and I sighed knowing they probably got in an argument about infidelity.
"What happened?" I asked.
"He came at me sideways because he says I been cheating." She said.
"Have you?" I asked even though I already knew she did. I seen it.
"I mean, yeah. But he has too, so he can't even come at me like that when he been doing the same shit." Sienna said.
"If you both cheating consistently, clearly there's something going on in the relationship that needs fixing. You two should sit and talk about it if it's that deep" I said.
She sighed.
"He broke up with me." Sienna said.
I looked at her and shook my head. "I just- I wanted to tell you, I see your pain now."
"What?" I said.
"He cheated on you right?" She said.
"Yep." I said.
"And you left him" She said.
"Sho did" I said and she chuckled.
"I get it. I mean, I don't give a fuck about Trevante that much to care about the break up, but I can see your point of view on things a lot more now. And you definitely weren't the problem. The guy I cheated on him with has been the love of my life for years and years. I broke up with him for the same reason you broke up with Trevante. And then he came back around, spitting the right game and we just... Ended up being intimate again. I don't know if you still have feelings for Trevante but-"
"I don't. But I feel you." I said. "Look, have a seat" I added and she sat down in one of my chairs and I sat beside her.
"I'm sorry to be coming to you with all this when we clearly don't like each other but, I don't know. I ain't really got nobody else to talk to about it. But me and my ex been through a lot together, he hurt me to the core but I still love him so. That's why I was cheating on Trevante. It wasn't right but he was cheating with bitches took so I didn't care. I did me. Me and my ex met in high school, dated through college and shit, and then he cheated so it was all fucked up. But he's a better man now, so I wanna give him that chance." Sienna said.
"Listen, there was this woman that was in a similar situation as you. Fell in love with a man when she was 17, they were together for years. They got engaged, had a kid. She had her hopes up for a better life, a family life, something she didn't have growing up. She sacrificed a lot just to be with him. They had their first child, and she moved with him and everything so he can get his career started. Then, a few months later, she found out she was three months pregnant with their second child. But then, he ended up cheating on her, with some random. And it was all over the internet, and she was embarrassed, and hurt." I said.
"Well... What about the baby she got pregnant with?" Sienna asked.
"She ended up having a miscarriage... She never ever told a soul. Not even her mother. He didn't know she was even pregnant with their second kid. And, well, she never looked at men quite the same again.." I mumbled as I squinted my eyes, staring ahead and just zoning out a bit.
"Wow..." Sienna said.
"So, when you're speaking on your ex and how he hurt you but you still love him, trust me, other people are going through that too." I said.
"Hmm... What show did you hear this on?" She asked me.
I looked over at her, taking a deep breath. "Sorry.. I've never been on a show before." I said.
Her mouth slowly fell open, and she said "Aww, Janet.. Trevante- He... Wow..."
I just shook my head and forced a small smile. "He doesn't know I miscarried our second kid due to stress and pain. I figured, there was no use in telling him since I broke up with him. I was heart broken for a long ass time, before I moved forward."
"How can you even still talk to him when he did all that?" She asked.
"Because it's not about me. It's about our daughter. And I want me and him to be on good terms for the sake of her." I said, she nodded her head.
"You know.. You're a remarkable woman." Sienna said and I rose my eyebrows.
She laughed at the expression on my face and said "It's something I always knew, Janet. And I guess that's why I was so intimidated."
"But there's no need to be intimidated." I said.
"I know, I know. But... It was also because I can definitely tell that Trevante regrets fucking up what y'all had. If it was up to him, you and him would still be together. And I know that for a fact." She said and I just shook my head and sighed a little.
"I ain't got nothing to say to that Sienna. But, what I will say is, that I understand you okay? And there's no hate in my heart for you. I never wanted us to go back and forth the way we did-"
"I know, I'm sorry. That was my fault. I was so intimidated because, your personality. And you're beautiful. I don't know, I guess I felt like I'd never fill your shoes." She said.
"But see that's just it. You don't need to fill anyone else's shoes when you got your own." I said and she just looked at me.
"Can.. Can you just hug me Janet?" She asked, and it threw me off a bit.
"Yeah- Sure" I said as we both stood up and we hugged.
"Thank you so much for this talk." She said. "I needed it." She added, and I rubbed her back saying "Of course."
"I'll see you around aight?" I said as we pulled away and she nodded her head.
"Good luck with him girl, you got a whole kid with the mothafucka" She said and I laughed saying "I ain't trippin"
I know how to handle Trevante and our co parenting so he's not really difficult to me. I just keep him in a specific lane.
She then said "Bye Janet.." as she opened the door and I waved bye before she left out shutting it behind her.
