AUDELIA'S POV

"What more can there possibly fucking be?" Lorenzo voices out my own thought.

The truth that Henry revealed a while ago is more than enough to shake my entire world and I have a feeling that his next words are not going to have any less devastating effect on my life.

My dad killed my mom and lied to me. Can it get any worse than this though?

He shifts in the chair, causing blood to spill from where I had plunged my knives, wincing in the process. "A lot more." He mocks. "About you too." He directs his words to Lorenzo and I feel him stiffen next to me.

Maybe it can get worse than it already is.

"What is it?" I ask. "Tell us already!" I snap as he keeps his mouth shut, no doubt enjoying to see us on edge so much.

"The Russians are not after you."

What? Just because I believe his words about Liam's actions does not mean I will believe everything he spews. But then again, everything I have known till now about the Russians come from my Liam's sources and he has been lying to me all my life. So, the chances that Henry is saying the truth although slim, are still there.

"Explain." I simply say. "Who are behind the attacks?"

"Your fathers." He gives me a sickening grin.

"Fathers?" I confirm with him. "As in-" I trail off.

"As in Stefano and Liam." He gladly completes my sentence, than grin still in place. I hear Lorenzo curse under his breath.

"How do you know that?" He asks Henry.

"Your father did not leave me alive for no reason, Audelia darling." His eyes lock with mine. "I must say you look just like your mother. As beautiful as her. Maybe even more."

"Just answer what you have been asked." I close my hand around Lorenzo's, preventing him from moving and hitting the bastard smirking at us when I feel him take a step.

"Your father, well, he was the one who orchestrated this whole thing. Along with your father, of course. Liam and Stefano have been working together for a while now with a common goal to destroy any obstacles in their way to power."

"And their mafias are the obstacle?" I scoff. Why would they destroy their own mafia and that too under the name of Russians which cause only further trouble especially since we were about to attack them first. In the Russian's books, they never attacked us. So this would be seen as an unprovoked attack and undoubtedly lead to huge bloodshed.

Unless-

"I don't really know about their motives or why they are doing this darling." I clench my fist at his voice. "I was a mere pawn in their game. So were you two."

"They wanted to kill you basically." He shrugs simply, his features contorting into pain. "I must say, despite all the efforts and always being one step ahead of you, you two always escaped."

"All these attacks were by them." I wanted to laugh at how stupid I was. How I believed every word they said without ever doubting them. "They must have planned that attack at the gala themselves so that it would give them an excuse to work together without it being suspicious."

"Everything they told us was what they wanted us to know. Everything we knew was what they wanted us to know." I continue. "We never knew anything actually."

"Igor must have been someone they hired and the whole warehouse incident was well planned by them." Lorenzo continues my chain of thoughts. "Every plan they told us about was a plan of our death."
