Chapter 37: Desperate Planning

"It is not the strongest of the species that survive, not the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." — Charles Darwin

"They were here Ozpin! The very CCT under attack while we were none the wiser!" General Ironwood angrily said as he had slammed his fist on Ozpin's desk.

"Yes we are aware James!" Glynda said, trying to calm the Atlas General down.

"That's great that you're aware, fantastic even. But are we even going to do something about this? Or are we going to keep ignoring what's been right in front of us this entire time-"

Beep! Beep! Beep!

When Ozpin's desk started beeping, The Headmaster stood and let his voice be heard.

"Come in!"

When the Elevator doors opened from it came the Guardian Hanako, and Pyrrha Nikos, the room turned quiet as the two approached.

"Thank you for coming Pyrrha, Hanako. Have you both slept well?" Ozpin asked.

"Yes, thank you." Pyrrha replied back.

"I'd say I slept well enough, although I'd rather ask for something important before we get started."

"And what would that be?" The Atlas General asked.

"Ruby was insistent on attending this meeting, although she's currently preoccupied with a House Rose project I thought to make a compromise. Bell?" Lifting up her hand Bell the Ghost materializes.

"Hello, if you would allow me could I contact Ruby through your computer, Headmaster Ozpin."

"My computer?" The Headmaster questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"Thats right, through Surveyor I'll be able to contact him and then he'll let you get a visual feed with Ruby so she may attend the meeting without going too far."

"And is there a reason why you can't contact her through yourself, Bell was it?"

"Yep, that's my name. And while I should be able to do that. It's more so of Ruby's and Vikas' request."

Hanako decided to speak up. "It's...a weird thing with The Fallen, they'd rather see face to face with important discussions like these."

"I was to believe that this topic would be discussed with us present, why the sudden addition?" General Ironwood asked aloud.

"Because I'm technically a part of House Rose, and whatever I did or will do in the future can affect the Fallen House in the long run. This is one of those cases."

"Right..." The General said, accepting her words.

"I for one don't see a reason to dissuade Ms. Rose from attending this talk. Like it or not this does technically involve her." Glynda Goodwitch said, making her opinion known to the other two leaders.

"Right...And it will just be a video feed correct?" Ozpin asked.

"Correct".

It took a moment for Ozpin to think, and so he agreed to let The Ghost have access to his computer. After some quick scanning from the Ghost the computer's screen suddenly changed to Ruby with her goggles on, her head and arm deep in an Eliksni device foreign to him, Glynda, and General Ironwood.

When Ozpin listened closely he could barely hear a socket wrench turning again and again.

"Ms. Rose." Ozpin suddenly said, causing the red haired girl to jump, hitting her head and hand while in the machine. "Ow! Shhh-oot..." Unseen was Ruby dropping her tool inside the machine.
