Chapter 19

Time: To prepare
Place: School

Given that the summer break had only a couple of weeks remaining, Nat and Steve agreed that the time had come to enroll their daughters in school. Previously, Nat and Steve had accompanied Wanda to Midtown Middle School, which also happened to be the school that Peter Parker attended, they visited it to explore the facilities and learn more about it. Wanda was quick to fall in love with the school, it was definitely the perfect fit for the girl. The school was situated a distance away, over an hour's drive which had left her parents on the fence about letting her attend there, however Wanda was going into the last year of middle school meaning next year she would be approaching high school, that time can be quite challenging for most adolescents so it's important to have friends around. Her parents knew it would be in the girls best interest to attend the same school as Peter.

This afternoon, Nat,Steve and AJ were scheduled to tour the local elementary, Hudson Elementary School, which was the closest to the compound so would be the ideal choice for AJ. Ava Jay remained rather reluctant to the concept of schooling. The child believed she didn't require the academic instruction, and considered her duties as an avenger to be an adequate substitute for a true education despite the fact her father had told her many times that she could not be an avenger until she was 18.

"Mama let's just go home"
The girl pouted at her mother,
trying to guilt trip her into leaving.

"At least give it a go. We can go and look at it and if you don't like it we can go"
Steve tried to reason with her.

"Daddy please don't make me"
AJ started to put on the fake water
works knowing Steve wasn't to strong
minded when it came to given in.

"No enough of that!" Nat interrupted before AJ could use her puppy eyes to put Steve under her spell, "Ava Jay we're going to visit this school wether you like it or not. Come on let's go, we're gonna be late"

AJ tightly grasped her parents' hands as they entered the school office. The principal, who was on the shorter side, bald and a little overweight yet had a friendly face welcomed the family upon their arrival.

"Miss Romanoff, AJ it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Principal Mason. Mr rogers it's a pleasure to see you again."

"Pleasures all mine sir" Steve spoke politely as he shook the man's hand.

Steve had visited this elementary school quite a few times, he'd visited quite a few schools, elementary all the way through to high school, curtesy of Fury who had put Steve in charge of some child guidance program. It pretty much just consisted of Captain America and iron man telling kids not to do drugs or commit crimes because that was bad.

"If you guys would like to follow me, We can take AJ to her class to meet her teacher and then you guys can come with me on a tour. There's another family here today, there Sons joining the same 3rd grade class as AJ"

The principal told them as he began to walk through the school. The family followed the principal into the 3rd grade classroom which maintained an attractive appearance, replete with abundant colors and a bright atmosphere. There was what looked to be another couple around the same age as Nat (not Steve cause he's old), engaged in a conversation with a younger woman who the family assumed to be the class teacher.

"Miss B" Principal Mason caught her attention as he called her over.

The younger woman in her early  twenties,smiled as she walked over to them excusing herself from her conversation with the other couple, her long brunette hair was pushed back into a slick bun to keep it from hindering her. The woman was pretty and had a friendly, warm demeanor.
