Chapter - 32

After spending time with immortal Sanren for sometime, he walked towards the forest part the place. He sat down with his bichen beside him , staring in darkness. He removed his forehead ribbon and caressed it with his slender , long fingers filled with calluses.

Wei Wuxian had come back from meditation and after drinking the medicine, he come to find Lan Wangji. He was looking around when he saw Lan Wangji sitting in darkness, just illuminated by the crescent moon .

For a moment Wei Wuxian saw the image of little Wangji sitting in front of his mother's house, all alone. Just loneliness was his only companion. Wei Wuxian wanted to ask about his childhood, wanted to ask about those bruises but how could he when he didn't want anyone else to ask himself about the past .

He was surprised to see the worst nightmare of lan Wangji was in cloud recesses, in his own home because all the memories which Wei Wuxian had seen was of Gusu and the most disturbing seen was that black abyss.

Then he remembered Nie Huisang telling him that twin jades of Gusu didn't have a good childhood. But what more made Wei Wuxian uneasy was the question , why ? Just Why ? What they did ?

Wei Wuxian came back to reality when he saw lan Wangji removing his forehead ribbon. He stared at the back of Lan Wangji's head where the blue ribbon wasn't fluttering anymore.

After a few minutes of staring Wei Wuxian called Lan Wangji.

" Lan Zhan ! "

Lan Wangji hearing his name, calmly put back the ribbon on it's rightful place.

When Wei Wuxian sat beside him, he saw the usual forehead adored with blue, cloud pattern ribbon.

" Why are you sitting here ? "

" How's Wei Ying feeling ? "

" Great ! But mouth is little bitter because of medicine." Wei Wuxian said scrunching his nose.

Lan Wangji smiled lightly.

" You know , grandma gave me two bowls. One for to heal me and other was for opening meridians. They both were taste awful." Wei Wuxian complained.

Lan Wangji took out the candies and gave to Wei Wuxian while smiling.

" Aiyaa, lan zhan, you are best ! " Wei Wuxian said while excitedly taking the candies.

" Wei Ying is happy. "

" Hm, I'm really happy. Grandma told me about my mother."

" Mn "

" Lan Zhan, can I ask something ? " Wei Wuxian said looking hesitant.

" Mn "

" How was your mother ?"

Lan Wangji didn't spoke, neither look at Wei Wuxian. He knew Wei Wuxian had seen some of his memories.

" She was kind, gentle and responsible like xiongzhang. Her smile was like Wei Ying."Lan Wangji spoke calmly like the narrow stream of water sliding down through rocks on mountain and producing a soft sound in nature, giving peace to mind and soul.

" You sure remember her well." Wei Wuxian said smiling softly.

" Aren't you like her ? " Wei Wuxian asked.

" I'm but in different way." Lan Wangji answered.

" How ? "

" Can't explain"

Wei Wuxian smiled. He understood some things can't be bounded in words.

" Lan Zhan, your memory is really a gift. You still remember your mother face and her personality."

Lan Wangji didn't spoke. He himself didn't knew whether it's a curse or a boon. He summon his guqin and started playing 'Wangxian '. Wei Wuxian also took out Chenqing and joined Wangji. He didn't know about song but still he liked it very much. A melody that he even remember after his return.

Next morning Wei Wuxian again meditate and Lan Wangji helped him again. Then they spent time with Immortal Sanren. Wei Wuxian was teasing his grandma and immortal Sanren was scolding her son playfully. The third person was just watching everything with soft expression.

Wei Wuxian was with his grandma in kitchen and adding spice into food even after getting scolded.

" You naughty kid, go out. Don't ruin my food."

" I'm not ruining it, grandma. I'm making it more tasty."

" You ! Go out and meditate for a while. " Baoshan said dragging Wei Wuxian by his hand.

When they come out they saw animals gathering around Lan Wangji.

" These small animals like him here too." Wei Wuxian said.

" Here too ? "

Wei Wuxian nodded.

" At Gusu , at the back mountain, lan Zhan has lots of bunnies. They like him so much."

" I gave him two bunnies at first and you know grandma I was surprised that he liked them ."

" Why were you surprised ? "

" Because he was really cold and didn't talk to me. He is afterall ice jade of Gusu. Who can imagine he has a soft corner for those ? "

Immortal Sanren smiled.

" Go, play with them. They like you too."

Wei Wuxian run towards Lan Wangji and sat beside him. Seeing Wei Wuxian, all the animals turned to him and started sniffing and licking him. Wei Wuxian erupted in laughter by their ticklish touch.

Immortal Sanren smiled contentedly to saw his grandson laughing care freely. She turned back to his kitchen.

After having lunch, Wei Wuxian again meditate for a while and in evening the same procedure was repeated by them. Wei Wuxian again had to drink two bowls of medicine and Lan Wangji gave him candies to reduce the bitter taste of medicine.
