Theo’s P.O.V

The venom burned through my body, flaring up my throat as I coughed it out onto the snow beside me. My blood burned.

I suddenly noticed that Addie was no longer crouched by my side. I missed her warm presence. I twisted my head, trying to see where she’d gone, and saw her standing in front of the burning hut, her face a mask of pure fury.

“Linda!” She yelled. “You poisoned Theo! It’s bad enough to kidnap him, but to try and end his life? Was that some kinda of sick joke?”
