Ahkmenrah's POV

It is finally the day Katalina and I are getting married. I am excited, except we both have been busy and I have not gotten to see her. The wedding starts at sunset. Because the lighting will be beautiful

So far I have to meet with the priests and my advisor. Everyone is stressing and making a much bigger deal out of this than the should be. They say it's because I've never been in love before and it is important to have a queen.

I know they're more worried about the queen thing. They are worried about this because when Katalina and I get married, she is the heir to the throne until we have children. But as of this moment, the only heir is Kahmunrah. My advisor does not think Kahmunrah is a good heir to the throne. Kahmunrah is very war set and land taking. Anyone would be a better fit than he would be.

I am in my room being dressed for the wedding. I cannot wait. They've kept Katalina and me away from each other since very early this morning.

They had woken us and took her to another room. I honestly did not know this much needed to be done for the wedding. My thoughts were interrupted Nefer entering my room.

"King Ahkmenrah, we need to make sure the setup is how you would like. Katalina is there as well." I went with Nefer and we went into the throne room and I saw Katalina and went to her. I kissed the side of her head and put my arm around her.

I looked around at the room and saw it was beautifully decorated. There were candles everywhere and the best of fabrics placed around almost everything.

There were whites and purples and blues circling around us in different patterns. The people who worked on this truly worked very hard and I am very appreciative of that.

"Do you like it?" I whispered into Katalina's ear. She nodded slowly.

"It is very wonderful. Very beautiful. I truly love it," She said looking at everything yet.

"Well, come with me and I will take you two outside and show you what we've done for you." Nefer said. Katalina and I followed him to where the wedding ceremony is going to be held and I watched Katalina's eyes light up with joy. I looked and saw many flowers of all kinds set up around the ceremony entrance. I saw Katalina walked towards them. I followed her.

"Do you like the flowers?" I asked. She was smiling but had tear droplets going down her face. "What is the matter?  You do not like them?" I asked and in a rush I had her in a hug. She took herself out of the hug and wiped her eyes.

"I love them. They're κρόκος λουλούδια (crocus flowers). They're native to Greece." She said. It instantly made me a lot happier that they included a part of Katalina in the wedding.

After looking around and accepting everything Nefer let Katalina and I go out for a small walk before it was time for the wedding. Holding her hand we walked along the Nile River and every now and then we'd stop and sweetly kiss one another.

I felt a light push upon my shoulder and looked to see a smirking Katalina next to me. She was pretending to have not done anything. We continued along and I felt a stronger push come from Katalina. Finally I stopped us after the third push.

"What are you trying to do?" I asked my smirking soon to be wife. She giggled lightly and pushed me making me fall into the water. I knew exactly what she was trying to do. She has started a water war.

I took off my crown and set it on the ground and stood back up. I was playfully glaring at Katalina.

"You got me wet," I said making her giggle. I ran to her and she playfully screamed and I pulled her into the water. We continued to splash each other until the guards came and stopped us. They led us both soaking back to the palace. Katalina and I were laughing as we entered.

And per usual we were taken our separate ways. I was taken to my room and the man who had measured me three days ago was back. Except for this time with a royal marriage outfit. He gave me the clothing and let me have my own privacy. Before changing I decided I needed to bathe after the fun in the Nile.

I was getting ready into my clothing as it is almost sunset when I heard footsteps behind me. I did not think much of it. I thought it was just the man who had been helping me. Until I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I looked down and saw a knife stuck into me. I tried to turn to see who it was but all I heard were running feet.

I fell to my knees in pain and cried out finally. I felt more feet running and looked up and saw Katalina. She covered her mouth in shock and was crying. I could see her speaking to me, I assume it is me she is speaking to, but I could not hear anything she was saying. I felt her lift my head onto her lap and she was petting my hair back.

She is wearing her wedding dress. She looks lovely. I am glad I have been able to see her in it. I wish I could actually marry her whilst she wears it.

I looked up and saw Kahmunrah run in as well. He gasped much as Katalina had and dropped to his knees by my side.

"Katalina, you..." I started to say but I could feel myself slipping into darkness. The gods are going to take care of me now. I closed my eyes and felt nothing.
