3rd Person's POV

"Hello?" Larry asked as he answered his phone just as he got to his apartment.

"Larry." Dr. McPhee was on the other line.

"Hey, Dr. McPhee."

"Yeah, hi. How's it going?"

"Okay."

"Good, good, good, good, good, good. You know that sound of when you're hiding in a trash bin...fearing for your life because a Tyrannosaurus rex is using it as a Hacky Sack?" Dr. McPhee asked.

"No. I don't know that sound."

"You don't know that sound? Oh, hold on one second." Dr. McPhee went to his tin garbage can. "That's the sound! That's the sound! It will haunt my dreams!"

"I'm sorry. Look, really, I'm sorry. I swear to you, I had no idea this was going to happen." Larry said apologizing.

"'I had no idea it was gonna happen. I'm only in charge of all the special effects.'" Mcphee said copying Larry. "It was your fault! They were your special effects!"

"No, I know," Larry said. As he went up the elevator and came to his floor he heard loud music.

"That's a joke. 'Special effects'? More like 'special...defects!'" Mcphee said laughing at his own joke.

"Look, I promise you, I'm gonna find out what happened."

"Or they were 'special rejects!'"

"I'm sorry, Dr. McPhee. I gotta go." Larry said as he got to his door and found the music coming from inside. He opened the door to see high schoolers all over his apartment. He walked over to where Nicky was playing the music. "Hey! Nicky! Nicky! Stop hopping!"

"Dad, what are you doing?" Nicky asked as Larry pulled the cord making the music stop.

"What are you doing? It's 3:00 AM. All right, party's over!" Larry yelled making everyone leave. Except a girl came over to Nicky.

"Hey." She said.

"Hey," Nicky said and she wrote her phone number on his hand. Larry looked over and saw another girl.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Sophie."

"Sophie? Bye, Bye Birdie?"

"Right."

"It was good."

"Thanks."

"Yeah."

"See you tomorrow night?" The girl asked Nicky.

" Probably not," Larry answered.

"Probably."

"Definitely not."

"Bye." After the remaining two people left Larry started talking to Nicky.

"You're in so much trouble."

"I know." Nicky and Larry started cleaning the apartment. "I didn't really know you were coming home early."

"Yeah, that's pretty obvious. I mean... what makes you think this is okay?" Larry asked.

"When I'm not at Mom's you leave me alone, like, every night."

"Look, you can't be doing this right now. You got finals, your NYU application is due in what, two weeks?" Larry asked.

"I'm not gonna get into NYU."

"You don't know that."

"No, I do."
