Escaped: Chapter 3

I felt the gun being pressed harder into my back.

I squeaked and dropped my bag.

I felt a someone grasp my upper arm and I was being pulled the opposite direction from my house. I looked up to see the cold faces of none other than Niall Horan and Liam Payne.

I panicked.

What the hell was I supposed to do?

I did the only thing I could think of.

I screamed.

I screamed and flailed and cried for help.

"Shit!" I heard an Irish accent spit out. "Shut her up, mate!"

"Help!" I screamed again and again.

I felt the cold barrel of the gun being pressed under my chin. I was spun around to face the dark eyes of Liam Payne.

"One more sound and it's your life. Got it?" He growled.

I shivered, took a shaky breath, and nodded.

He yanked me down the street to a black, classic Chevy Impala that was parked in a dark alley.

Niall opened the door to the backseat and looked at me.

"Get in," he said.

I just looked at him. I couldn't move.

My brain was telling me "move" but my feet were saying "no!"

"It's this or the trunk, love," he said. "Take your pick."

My eyes widened in horror.

I looked at Liam who just raised his eyebrows.

I scrambled into the backseat and the door next to me slammed shut.

They both got into the car, Niall into the passenger seat and Liam driving.

Liam looked at me through the rear view mirror.

"Try another stunt like that and I'll blow your kneecaps out, understand?" He said holding the gun up.

I nodded frantically and pulled my legs up into the seat with me.

I'd just been kidnapped. This was the kind of thing that just didn't happen! This was the kind of thing that always happened to someone else.

But, unfortunately, to somebody, we are all just someone else.

-

I felt my forehead against a cold window when I woke up. I rubbed my tear stained eyes and slowly lifted my head. Images from the night before were coming flooding back to me.

Ruby. A gun. Snow. Liam. Niall.

I ran my hand through my red hair, trying to put everything together.

I felt the car lurch as we ran over a pothole.

That's right. I remembered. I'd been kidnapped by Liam Payne and Niall Horan.

"Well look who's awake," Niall said from the front seat.

I looked up to see him watching me from the rear view mirror.

I immediately looked away.

He chuckled.

"What's your name, love?"

'It certainly isn't "love," I thought.

But I stayed silent.

Niall turned around to face me.

"I asked you a question," he said sternly.

My eyes stayed on the floor.

"Charlotte," I muttered.

"Can't hear you," Liam called.

"Charlotte," I repeated a little louder.

"There we go," Niall said. "You hungry, Charlotte?" He held up a box of bagels. "We stopped while you were still sleeping."

I shook my head.

"Suit yourself," he said, helping himself to the food.

I couldn't possibly think about eating at a time like this. The twist in my gut and the lump in my throat wouldn't have permitted it anyways.

We rode for about twenty more minutes in silence while I worked up the courage to finally ask, "where are we going?"

"None of your business," Liam growled from the seat in front of me.

God help me.
