Chapter 2

ALEXA'S POV:

Buzz buzz. My stupid alarm went off. Luckily, I don't have school today but, I have a lot of reading to do if I want to pass my upcoming exams.

I got to work and did my morning chores. Being an orphan, I had learned the hard way that if I want to survive, I need to work extra hard.

After cleaning up, bathing and all, I tried to read but, it wasn't entering my head. It's as if my brain needs fumigation. I decided to go somewhere maybe, a change of scenery would help. I got dressed in black T-shirt and black jeans.

I made a braid out of my hair, packed my books in my backpack and head to a new coffee shop, ten blocks away from my apartment.

I got to the front of the shop and it was quite beautiful, painted in Yellow and red colors with a big sign written in front (T&K's Coffee Shop). I went inside and the smell of coffee hit me. I didn't like coffee but I noticed that they also sell milkshakes and ice creams. I don't want to order now. I came for important business

I just sat at the far end of the room in a small booth when Riley and her minions walked in. They were busy flirting with the waiter. I didn't bother to look at him, it's not as if he'll notice me. I got on with my work until Riley walked over to my table and did their normal routine.

I didn't bother answering them and kept to my books since it's the only companion I have. I was busy pulling my hair when trying to solve a question when, a milkshake was placed on my table.

I looked at the milkshake and the hand that dropped it. I was mesmerized by the sight before me. I felt awestruck staring at the Grecian beauty before me. His eyes blue just like the deep blue sea, his nose pointed which added to his beauty. His lips as pink as a rose petal, eyelashes so long that even I became jealous. Why can't I have such long lashes

My eyes scrolled down his body as I ogled his strong muscular shoulders, his biceps and all that. He stood proud and tall. He smiled at me, completely aware I was checking him out. I coughed awkwardly to cover the blush that smeared my cheeks

"Sorry but I didn't order any" he sat down opposite me with his strong hands on the table

"I know but, you look like you could use some" gosh he was not only handsome but charming

"Um... thanks" I took the milkshake and started sipping it. Oh it felt amazing

"I'm Daniel by the way" he said stretching forth his hands

"Nice to meet you Daniel" I shook his hands and continued sipping my milkshake

"And you are?" He peered at me with amusement etched on his face

"Not important" I continued trying to solve the problem

"I'll call you anything then" he smiled. This guy shouldn't be allowed to smile in fact, it should be a crime cause it does weird things to my heart

"Whatever" I rolled my eyes not wanting him to sense my obvious attraction towards him

"What are you working on?" He tried to look at my book as I closed it immediately, ashamed he might see my failed attempts.

"N.. nothing. What are you doing here anyway?" I asked sipping my milkshake

"I just wanted to keep the most pretty girl in the world company" my heart did a somersault. What's wrong with me

"Don't you have work to do?" I asked trying to cover my blush

"Nope" he smiled popping the 'p' "So what are you working on?"

"Physics" I finally gave up. He took my note to examine the question. I studied his face while he goes through my notes. He was truly beautiful

"This is pretty easy. I could teach you if you want" he raised his perfectly arched brow at me

"Really, what's your catch? Did Riley and her minions put you up to this?" I needed to be sure

"Of course not. Look I was just trying to help ok" he got up to leave. This could be my only chance at passing physics

"Wait" I stood up calling out to him "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to jump into conclusions. It's just that Riley would do anything to get under my skin" he walked over to me and sat down again

"You shouldn't let her treat you the way she does" I blushed out of embarrassment.

"You saw that?" Referring to her earlier drama

"Yes, why do you let her?" He asked

"Well I don't find her harmful in anyway, on the contrary, I find her antics amusing" he chuckled and my heart skipped again. Gosh my emotions are all over the place

"Me too" he helped me study and surprisingly I understood all he taught me. He had to go attend to some costumers and before I knew it, it was already dark.

I walked over to the front desk to thank him before leaving

"Hey, I'm going home now thanks for today. You were really helpful" I smiled at him which he returned

"My shift is over. I could walk you home, it's pretty dangerous out there for a pretty girl like you" I blushed..... again

"No it's ok I can manage besides, I've troubled you a lot today." He took his jacket and walked over to me

"Trust me, it's my pleasure" we walked silently to my home, my heart beating erracticly. What was I supposed to say? Of all times my brain could stop walking, it chose now. we got to my doorstep and, he finally spoke up

"We could do this some other time. You know me helping you to study" he offered and in my heart I already agreed. A chance to be with this Greek God was an opportunity I didn't want to lose

"What do you want in return?" He chuckled

"Your name and friendship" he smiled but I wasn't done yet

"I don't believe you, why would you want to be friends with me?" he chuckled loudly this time around

"Unless you want me to call you Esmeralda, you should tell me your name and on the aspect of friendship,......I won't deny that I'm attracted to you but all I want for now, is to get to know you" I blushed. He was attracted to me? What do I say now? That I'm attracted to him too?. Gosh I've never experienced this before. What does a girl say when a guy she's crushing on says he likes her

"Um... okay. My name is Alexandra" seriously, that's all I could say? Alexandra you're such a fool

"Wow...it's as beautiful as the bearer" I blushed and turned to open my door

"So tommorow at the cafe?" He was checking if i was still up for our study date

"I have school and work after, let's make it every Saturday" he nodded his head

"Okay...see you" he winked at me. Gosh I felt like my heart stopped. I quickly ran inside my apartment not trusting myself around him. That was embarrassing

I slid down the door holding my pounding heart. What was this feeling? Why was I acting this way? For a guy?. I went to bed thinking of a certain blue eyes and that charming smile

For the first time in my life, I felt happy and not alone. I felt my life wasn't boring, I felt eager to see the next day, to see him
