Chapter 47

ALEXA'S POV:

To say I was surprised about Daniel's actions last night would be an under statement. I kept thinking about what he said, how we met, the good times and all. Then I thought of Philip and how he was there for me during my worst.

It was going to be a tough decision to make but now, I Know who i want to be with, who is going to make me and dawn happy. I feel like I always knew but I was just scared to admit it.

Suzzy already left to her house this morning. Daniel is probably still sleeping in the guest room so, I decided to give dawn a bath and get her dressed. I was busy lying her properly on my bed when Philip came into my room. I didn't even know when he entered the house

"There's my future wife" he walked over to us and took me off guard by hugging me. Before I could react, from the corner of my eye, I saw Daniel staring at us with a look of hurt in his eyes

Philip followed my line of sight and noticed me looking at Daniel. He immediately marched towards him and held Daniel by the collar. I immediately rushed towards them and stood in between them

"Philip stop, what are you doing?" Daniel just maintained his cool as Philip started shaking him

"What the hell is this guy doing here? Is he trying to bother you again?" I finally took his hands off Daniel

"I'm not here to create any troubles, I just want to see my daughter one last time" Daniel said glancing at Dawn's sleeping form

"Well she'll soon be my daughter and not yours anymore so kindly leave" Philip countered

"Will you guys just stop it? Stop it for crying out loud" I yelled but not enough to wake up sleeping dawn.

"Just let him leave Alexandra, we don't need anymore problems in our lives. I just want to be happy with you" Daniel walked over to dawn and placed a kiss on her forehead

"Take care of my daughter for me and take care of yourself. Some of your stuff are still at my place, I'll pack then up for you" he muttered, turning around to finally leave

"Good riddance" Philip said the moment he left "I'm so glad he's finally out of our hair, Alexandra I promise to... " I cut him off before he could continue his blabbing

"Can you please shut up for a second? Please" he looked taken aback by the tone of my voice but it needed to be done "listen Philip, you're a great guy and you deserve to be loved. You took care of me at my worst and you have always been there for me and for that I'm sincerely grateful" I said

"Why do I feel like there's a but coming after that statement?" He whispered

"The truth is that I love Daniel very much. I have always loved him and after this past months, he's still the one my heart beats for. I'm afraid I can't marry you when my heart, body and soul longs for another. That won't be fair to you."

"So you're chosing him?" His voice broken as tears began to pool in his eyes

"I didn't have to, it has always been him from the start and it always will" I muttered.

He sighed, looking defeated "I really love you Alexandra but, I can't force you to feel the same way. I hope you don't regret your decision later in the future" he came closer and pulled me in a friendly hug, after that he left without saying anything else.

Immediately he left, I felt like a heavy weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I carefully carried dawn to my car and drove to Ethan's house. I told Suzzy what's going on and to help me watch my baby while I go get back my husband.

When i got there, it was already late since I had to go to his penthouse first but I didn't care so I just ran inside the mansion. It was a bit quiet than usual. I went straight to what used to be our old room and saw my bag neatly arranged on the floor

"I assume you'll be leaving for his house soon and I didn't want to stress you and keep you waiting. I'll be in the living room" his voice thick and hard like he had cried. I was right when he turned to walk past me to the living room, his eyes were all red and swollen.

I immediately grabbed his hand, stopping him from taking a step further. He turned to look at our joined hands puzzled "I chose you" his eyes immediately shot up to my face

"W..what?" His voice still cracking "I finally accepted it that irrespective of how you hurt me, my heart will always beat for one person and that person happens to be you. It's pathetic I know. From the first day I saw you, I knew you were the one I'll love Undyingly and forever" tears slipped his left eye as he pulled me closer to him

He looked at me, trying to find any signs of joke in my eyes as he shook his head in disbelief. It didn't take long before he pressed his soft lips on mine. I instantly wrapped my arms around his neck as he pulled me closer if that was even possible.

Our lips began to move in perfect sync before he pulled away gently looking into my eyes. "Do you know what I have discovered Alexa, that love isn't easy" I giggled

"Yes, it takes a lot of guts to fall in love with someone because when you do, it shows that your heart is willing to risk being broken. I have come to understand that sometimes, we need to experience heartbreak and get hurt in order to value this thing called love" he pecked me softly "I have never felt complete with anyone else the way I do with you. You're my other half, my best friend, my wife, my love, the mother of my kids, I can't promise you that I'll never hurt you but one thing is for sure I'll never do it intentionally and I'll spend the rest of my life making you happy and making up for hurting you"

I tip- toed, placing my lips on his again before whispering an 'i love you' to him..........THE END
