Chapter 16

********6 months later********

SAMURAI'S POV:

It's about time I execute my plan, I have waited for the past six months and I have hatched a full proof plan. I will make sure I separate Daniel from the woman he loves. As it is, I feel their relationship is growing weak so it'll be easy, like taking candy from a baby.

I went into my father's room. He's on bed rest today as advised by the doctor so, why not take advantage of the whole situation.

"Good morning Papa, how's your health?" He smiled at me

"I'm fine my dear, how are you?" I just shrugged

"I'm fine Papa. I'm just here to apologise for the way I spoke to you when you handed the company over to Daniel. I shouldn't have been so selfish papa" I looked acting like I was ashamed of what I had done

"I'm glad to see that you are being sensible and have come to realize that Daniel is my child too and he's the rightful heir to that company" rightful heir my foot

"Yes papa, you're absolutely right" he stretched his hand and held my face nodding at me

"So how is he doing running the company?" I smirked as this is my opportunity to stike

"It's been six months Papa and he's doing great. The staff love him, the clients speak highly of him but I'm afraid some of the investors don't think he'll be able to run the company properly"

"What??" He tried getting up from the bed but I stopped him and covered him properly with the blanket

"Is just that the investors think he's a little immature and not responsible enough" he looked puzzled so I sat close to him

"But....how can we change their mindset?, I don't want him to have a bad reputation" I smiled knowningly

"Of course Papa. Although I have a solution" he nodded encouraging me to go on

"I have an idea that will shut up the investors and see the potential and capability in my younger brother. If he does it, it'll benefit us as well"

"What idea is that?" I stood up and walked towards the window so he won't notice me smiling

"MARRIAGE" he paused for a second

"But how is marriage going to change anything?" I went back to sit beside him

"Papa if Daniel gets married, it'll show the investors how responsible he is by taking care of a company and his marriage. Besides, he's old enough to settle down so it's a win-win situation"

"What do you mean he's old enough?, What about you?, Are you not old enough to give me grandkids?" How dare he?

"It's okay Papa if you don't like my idea. I was just trying to help" I got up to leave. Come on old man, stop me. Why won't he stop me from leaving the room?

"Wait!!" I smiled before turning around to face him with a sad face

"I'm sorry samurai, you're just trying to look out for your brother and that's very thoughtful of you" I nodded

"What do you have in mind?"

"Father I think we should get him married to one of our biggest investor's daughter." He looked confused for a second

"I thought he had a serious girlfriend" I held his hands

"He has a serious relationship Papa but where is that going to take him? Marrying the daughter of Steinfeld & Co would not only profit the company but also lead him in the right path" he thought about my idea. Oh Samurai, you're just too good

"What do you even know about this girl?" I smiled and handed him a file I had brought along with me

"I know you think I'm selfish at times papa but, I love our family and would never want it to be destroyed. I'll leave you to think about it" I walked to the door patting myself mentally on the shoulder for a job well done

**********During dinner********

"Daniel my son" father spoke up

"Yes father?" He stopped eating to pay him attention

"I'll like to have a word with you in my office" mom and I looked at each other and smiled to ourselves

"Of course" after dinner they both went to his office to discuss

"Well done Samurai, I'm proud of you" I smiled

"Of course, I learnt from the best" we cackled

DANIEL'S POV:

For the past six months, things have been going smoothly. I have come to master how the company functions and operates. Also, Alexa and i's relationship was going well.

We go out on dates, spend quality time together and I have to admit that my feelings for her has grown stronger than before.

I'm planning on taking our relationship to the next level soon. I want to spend the rest of my life with her maybe during my meeting with father tonight, I could tell him about my plans of wanting to marry Alexa.

"You sent for me father" he pointed at the seat opposite his desk

"Yes, I would like to know about your plans for the future because some of the investors are complaining that you're not responsible enough" I thought I was running the company well

"I don't understand father, is there something I'm doing wrong?" He sighed

"I want you to get married to one of my old friends daughter" wtf!!!

"What??" , "It will show the investors how ready and responsible you're by taking care of the company and your family" I can't believe this

"I understand what you are saying father but you know that Alexa and I are together, why do you want me to marry another" he dropped his glasses

"You need someone that will help in bringing the company to the next level. Son, I'm doing this for your own good" I can't marry someone else, I love my Alexa

"I can't do what you're asking of me dad. As far as getting married is involved, I only wish to marry Alexa" I got up and left his office

I decided to call Alexa and let her know I was spending the night at her house
