A/N - This imagine is based on the song 'They Don't Know About us' by One Direction. Many of you likely don't know this about me, but I was a major One Direction fan in my teenage years. I hope you all enjoy it.

"You," your sister muttered, waving her hand ever so slightly in your direction, "are far too young to be considering marriage. Stop fawning over the boy and enjoy the freedom of being a young woman."

You frowned, Cersei always had the ability to knock the air out of your lungs with a simple  murmured sentence. It's why you had come to her. No matter the question, or worry, or query, she would always give you her honest opinion. Whether you agreed with her was another thing entirely.

"Podrick and I have been getting on wonderfully," you started softly, managing to keep the sweet smile fixed on your lips, "and it's not like he's some complete stranger that I've only just met. We've known each other since we were little."

Cersei rolled her eyes, lifting her cup to her lips and taking a long drink. "I just think that perhaps you will regret this decision." She paused for a moment, releasing a deep sigh. "Take it from me, marriage isn't as exciting as your Septa makes it seem. You'd be better off just getting him to bed you and moving on."

You choked slightly on your own spittle, coughing and spluttering for just a second before staring at your sister in horror. "Cersei," you exclaimed softly, "You can't say such things. What is somebody hears you."

The snort that left your sister was anything but ladylike, and she shook her head. "You are so innocent, Y/N. Everybody does it. Fucking is as natural as anything else you do."

You pursed your lips. "Well, I fully intend to save my maidenhead for my husband." You paused for a moment, your smile returning. "For Pod."

Cersei scoffed. "Gods, you really do love him, don't you?"

"Of course I do."

"Women don't love there husbands, Y/N. They tell them they do, and they grin and bear it when they visit their beds, but they don't truly love them."

This time it was your turn to roll your eyes. "Then perhaps I can be the first who does."

"Father won't allow it, you know that." Your smile suddenly fell, your brows knitting together in confusion. "The Paynes aren't nearly significant enough for you to marry into them. And your Podrick is from one of the lesser branches. It's never going to happen."

"But if I request it-"

"It will make no difference," Cersei told you softly, her hand coming to rest on top of yours, "you know our father. He cares far more about the family as a whole than the family as an individual." Cersei sent you a small sad smile. "You ought to have your fun with the boy whilst you still can, Y/N."

*Time Skip*

"Would you run away with me?"

Pod looked utterly startled as your question attempted to demuddle itself in his mind. "Of course I would," he finally told you, watching as you responded with a small, sad smile. "What's put this in your mind?"

You shrugged, shifting in your seat as he continued to watch you. "I was speaking with Cersei," you started, shaking your head slightly. "It's nothing. It doesn't matter."

"Come here," he muttered, shifting his seat backwards and patting his lap. You did as you were told, climbing into his embrace and burrowing into his shoulder. "Tell me what happened."

You stayed silent, taking a deep breath against his neck, tickling the hair there. "She said we will never be married; that my father would never allow it," you paused, taking another deep breath and shaking your head. "She told me that I should just let you share my bed and be done with it."

"And you want to do that?"

You reeled back slightly, your face contorted in horror as you stared at him. "Of course not. I want to lay with you when you are my husband."

His hand lifted, running comfortingly over your spine. "But if we cannot marry?"

"Then I shall never lay with anyone," you stated, completely serious in your statement until he began to chuckle. "I mean it," you told him, bringing your hand up to run over his chin slightly. "If I cannot have you I won't take a husband. You are the only man I want."

He smiled, bringing your hand to his lips and pressing a gentle kiss to your knuckles. "I know, sweetness," he murmured softly, "I know."

"Perhaps I should tell my father that," you murmured, more to yourself than to him as he continued to play with your fingers, linking them through his own. "I could march up to him and say 'father, I shall not take a husband unless he is Podrick Payne. I would rather die a lonely old spinster than bear any other man's child.'"

"I doubt he would appreciate that very much," he muttered back, causing you to chuckle.

You leant down, pressing a soft kiss to his lips. "I don't give two shits what he appreciates."

"Oh? Is that right?" he teased slightly, lips brushing against yours as he spoke.

"That is exactly right." You shifted backwards slightly, away from his mouth, taking in his smile face. "What I want is far more important than what he wants for me."
