These are some flashback moments from when Nya, Will, Lucy, and Angel were all kids. These are just gunna be some of the stories and memories that they share and explain some things about each of their pasts, including their parents and their scars and suck.😘

Nya was nearly seven years old when she made her first visit to the Helgim mansion.

It had been five months after meeting her biological father for the first time.

Eddison Bruce, the last name she would adopt from now on, was a selective and organized individual. He liked things to be tidy, for things to make sense. He liked simple things and he liked it when they stayed that way.

When he had first learned about Nya she had been like a puzzle piece that would never fit quite right in his puzzle, and to some degree, it bothered him. It bothered him a lot actually.

Eddison's wife, Alicia, and his daughters Chloe and Robin, had only met Nya once. And once was more than enough. None of the had taken a liking to the tiny mangled mute girl who was born under the Bruce name purely by accident. Nya, like the rest of them, had come to terms with this one rule quite quickly; She would never be a part of their family, and she would never fit in as a Bruce.

But she was okay with that. This life of solitude, of her rich 'father' paying her through a private, quiet education, in big empty homes where no one could find her, this life was far better than the one she left behind.  And she was thankful for the man. Eddison Bruce had owned up to his mistake, and though he had pushed her away into the far corner of his existence, he had at least acknowledged her existence as his bastard born daughter, which was far better than any alternative.

Nya was very thankful for his kindness, and even as a tiny child, she had come to terms with their limited relationship. She didn't expect anything of him, and he expected nothing of her, and they were okay with that.

But today, one week before her seventh birthday, Eddison Bruce had invited her from a private home in Ireland, and asked if she would accompany him to meet his old business friend. Nya knew very little about their visit, but apparently, they were visiting a young woman who liked daughters. And she had a son, only a couple of years older than Nya.

"Someone for you to play with," her father had described as they drove through narrow, winding hills.

Nya had never 'played' with someone before. On the TV it looked like kids, usually two to three of them, with toys or balls, usually playing imaginary games. Made up things, things that could never exist.

Nya had never done that before, she didn't even know where to start. But she didn't want to disappoint Eddison, so for him, she would keep her mouth shut and be polite and play whatever game the other little boy wanted to play.

Their car arrived at the front gate of a very old looking stone border that worked like a moat around a castle. Low and behold, the grounds inside the gate, the massive stone mansion, resembled that of an old-timey castle the likes of which Nya had only imagined. It was beautiful.

Large and made of old brick and stone, the mansion was stunning and rustic, with vines and ferns traveling along the edges of the castle and up the fencing brick walls. Acres and acres of woodland stretched around them, up into the hills that surrounded this valley home.
