"What are you smiling about?" Arthur asks suddenly making me jump a little

"Nothing dollaphead," I say pushing a little at his side before running away from him as he chases me inside the castle screaming my name

3rd Person POV:

It has been 3 days since Queen Hunith had died and the lot just have two days to get prepared for battle. Everyone over the age of 14 were allowed to be in the battle, and surprisingly everyone had shown up for practice.  All the knights have been training with the villagers and during the night, Merlin would gather the sorcerers and teach them some spells and counter curses which could come in handy during the battle

The druid leader had taken Merlin and Sylvia's request to take the children in for a few days, and mostly because Merlin asked them to, so they couldn't really deny Emrys. Today's agenda was that Morgana, Merlin, Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table along with some guards will take the children to that druid camp with the help of Morgana's directions

Merlin saw through the castle's balcony, how the parents were huddled around their children hugging, crying and telling them to behave. Merlin let out a chuckle as he saw a little girl jump on her big sister causing both of them to fall in the small pile of mad puddle. He saw how innocent his people really where and how he had hidden away while his people had suffered so much at the hands of a traitor

On the other hand Arthur was looking down and was asking him self that how the hell his father kept executing these people. They were so full of joy and caring people that he actually felt guilt about what his father had been doing and how his father had also planted these type of lies into his head. Here he had seen that magic was really extraordinary, how these people only used magic to entertain kids and used it only when needed, and not for dark or wrong purposes. He was also astonished at how the villagers worked side by side with so many dragons

Both the men made eye contact waiting for the other to look away first but when none of them do, a sudden sound from the dragon above them make them break contact. Looking at the ground both blushing crimson. Arthur smiled to himself knowing the effect he had on Merlin just now and it made him feel warm all over. He pushed those thoughts out of his head and went to get ready for the journey

"MERLIN!" He shouted

Merlin could hear his name being called out from his own chambers and let out a heavy sigh as he made his way to the King's chambers. Merlin could feel a swarm of butterflies in the pit of his stomach, which he had never given much thought to until now. He knew that he had feelings for Arthur but he didn't wanna confess and then ruin their friendship between if he doesn't feel the same way. It would just be awkward between them, Merlin thought that that if he had hidden his feelings for two years now, he could hide them more but he couldn't

It was getting harder not being able to tell Arthur how he felt, when Arthur had comforted him and made him sleep with him, Merlin loved having Arthur's arms around him. Though he is the most powerful person in the whole world, he just feels safe in Arthur's arms

"Merlin?" Arthur's voice brought him out of his thoughts "Are we done day dreaming?"

"Shut up," Merlin said "Have you packed everything for the journey?"

"Yeah, i have ," Arthur assures him "And Morgana is packing some more extra food, just in case considering we are taking 16 children,"

"Well, i have kept two swords for both of us," Merlin states

"Two?" Arthur says confused "You Merlin? You are going to fight?"

"I have many talents," Merlin said bluntly and Arthur just rolled his eyes
