'But Merlin could've at least told me,' he thought 'i would've only loved him more, i would've have never given him up to my father,'

Merlin's POV:

Taking 16 kids in two carriages wasn't so easy but it wasn't hard either, sure we had a bit of problem when we had rocky paths or steep passages but we managed it will. The lucky part on our side was that we had no run ins with any bandits because that would be way too dangerous with children around. The sun starts to set right after we have entered back to Camelot so we had stopped to make camp and as soon as i tie my horse to a tree i set off to collect firewood so i can get dinner started as early as possible while Arthur and two others are hunting rabbits

"Do you want to tell me whats going on? Or can i go around believing my theories?" Lancelot's sudden statement took me off guard and i dropped some sticks

"Why do you suspect something is going?" I ask him curious

"I am your best friend , Merlin," He said he said putting a hand on my shoulder "I always know when something is bothering you or when you are stressed out, just like since this missions began,"

"I am fine Lance," I replied him with a sigh as I bend down to pick the sticks I had dropped "Don't bother with m-"

Before I could finish my sentence, Lancelot had dropped all the woods from hands and pushed me down to sit as he did the same. I glared at him as he just shrugged his shoulders and glared back

"We are not moving from here until you tell me what's wrong," Lancelot said "and I am the one keeping watch first, so i have all night to sit here anyway,"

I knew that I could trust Lancelot with more then just my life and he already knew about my magic and didn't cast me out so I could tell him that I am prince as well right? He could've told Uther that I had magic, he surely would've gotten a rewards dfor but he didn't

"Iamthelostprinceofealoran," i blurted out so fast that even i couldn't make out sentences. I let out a heavy sigh "I am the lost prince of Ealoran,"

"Well done," he said clapping me on the back and I started at him wide eyed

"You knew?" I gasped at him

"I had a strong theory on that one actually," Lancelot said smirking at himself

"How?" I asked him

"Well, when the knights showed up you were pretty close to them and then you were also close to the princess. I first thought that you fancied the princess but then you had feeling for Arthur so that was scratched off," I looked at him with my mouth hanging open "The knights said that their prince had magic and was the last dragonlord and you Merlin, are the last dragonlord and have magic. Plus I saw the royal ring which matches Sylvia's necklace,"

"Wow," I just couldn't get more words out but then a thought struck me "Is it really obvious that i have feelings for Arthur?"

"Everyone knows that you fancy him," Lancelot scoffs "Gwaine has even made a bet with Elyan, and the way things are going, i don't wanna be in Elyan's shoes if he loses the bet,"

I give a light chuckle as he claps my shoulder again and stands up and i follow him doing the same. I collect back the firewood which Lancelot had dropped and along with his help we take back to camp and their i could see that knights had found a descent amount of rabbits and enough to make dinner for all of us. I drop the wood in the centre of the camp and set in a cone shape, Lancelot was covering me from the front as i mutter the words of the old religion and feel the magic pulsing through my veins as the once dead woods roar back blazing with orange and yellow flames
