Isabella's POV : ( 9 hrs later)

After the long and unpleasant flight, I found myself in Italy, where I spent the final joyful days of my life. The memories of my time here flooded my mind, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia.

As Victor turned to face me and asked about the funeral, I was ready with my response. I communicated my plan with Louis during the journey via text messages to ensure that everything went smoothly.

"The funeral will be this evening, and we can return to the following morning, while Louis may travel to France," I said calmly.

Louis asked if I had anything else to do in Piedmont, but Victor's presence seemed to have preoccupied him. Victor then guided me to a room, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.

I abruptly asked Victor where we will be residing, to which he responded, "Here," as though it was the most natural thing in the world.

"We're staying together?" I questioned, horrified at the thought of being in such close proximity to my brother, who was also my rival in the mafia world.

But Victor seemed unfazed by my reaction and replied with a peculiar glint in his eyes, "Any problem?"

I couldn't help but feel frustrated with his nonchalant attitude. "How even are you, my brother?" I asked, exasperated.

He simply shrugged and uttered, "Just like that," before turning to face the door.

As I watched him leave, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. Everyone in my family was odd, and I knew that I had to be careful around Victor. But at the same time, I couldn't let my guard down. The world of the mafia was a dangerous one, and I had to be prepared for whatever lay ahead.

As I sat there, lost in thought, I knew that I had to come up with a plan. I couldn't let Victor get the upper hand, not now, not ever.
