There's always a light in the darkness
Though it may seem like a void
It's there and it stands out so starkly
With hope it can bring joy
It's a beacon in our darkest hour
A reminder that we can cope
It brings strength to the weak and meek
A chance to help us elope
And with it comes a new perspective
A new view to see the way
A chance to look and understand
The beauty of each new day
It's a reminder of the good times
When life was much more free
When we could laugh, and smile, and love
And all the things that be
So look to the light in the darkness
It's there to show you the way
For when the night is at its darkest
The light will always stay
