Now thanks to' Emanuel' remembering he was Cas and taking out the demons in the from of the hospital, you had a chance to see Sam again. You were his girlfriend and you two were very close. You noticed right away that Sam wasn't Sam when he got out of Hell. You helped convince Death to give him his soul back after Dean couldn't finish the twenty four hour task.

You noticed Sam struggling with reality and often had to soothe him back to sleep when he woke up from nightmares of Hell. But when he ended up in the hospital, after Cas broke his walls, you were torn.

You wanted to see him everyday, but of course you had other problems with hunts. But now that you could see him, looking through the window of the door, you felt broken.

He looked so weak for such a strong man. His eyes were dark and filled with fear, and you knew you couldn't help him. Dean gave you a pat on the back and opened the door, Cas stepping in behind him.

You sat down next to him on the bed and immediately he tried to shy away from you, like oil and vinegar. You blinked back the tears and tried speaking to him, but he looked terrified.

"Sam, it's me, Y/n. I'm here to help you. Whatever you're seeing, it's not real."

"No!" he gasped, jerking away from you. His breathing started getting heavy so you quickly got off the bed and stepped away.

You walked back to Cas.

"You did this to him," you snarled. "You said that you would fix him too, but apparently 'God' has better things to do then watch out for the people on this planet that he should protect!" Cas took a step back. As a L/n, you were known for being protective and fierce. Sometimes your temper got ahead of you. You exited the room, walking around the halls to cool off.

Maybe you shouldn't have yelled at Cas, but you hated seeing Sam so defenseless. When you thought of your boyfriend, the words 'strong,' 'talented,' and 'smart' came up along with 'tall' and 'handsome' but that wasn't the point. He was now broken and weak.

You stopped walking and put your back to the wall. Right now he wasn't strong. So, you would have to be strong for him. Shaking your feelings off you walked back to Sam's room.

"Is he going to be like this until he canon blows out?" you heard Dean whisper to Cas.

"This isn't a problem I can make disappear." Cas turned to meet your gaze walking into the room. You dipped your head in apology, not wanting to interrupt them. "You know that. But I may be able to shift it."

"Shift?" you questioned.

"Get Sam back on his feet." Cas walked towards the bed and sat on it similar to what you had done. He turned back to you and Dean. "It's better this way. I'll be fine."

"Woah, Cas what are you doing?" You took a step forwards, Dean at your back.

"Now, Sam," your boyfriend flinched and pressed himself against the wall, "this may hurt. And if I can't tell you again, I'm sorry I ever did this to you."

There was a flash of light as Cas placed his hand on Sam's forehead. Your boyfriend's veins around his eyes started glowing red and that light traveled from his face up Cas' arm, and finally resting in the angel's eyes before fading.

Sam gasped and reached his arms up, recovering from whatever pain he felt.

"Sam?" Dean spoke up, looking concerned.

"Dean!" The younger Winchester sat up and focused his eyes on the angel you had helped him. "Cas? Cas is that you?"

But Castiel looked terrified, just as Sam was only moments ago. He backed up and pressed himself against the wall, only then had you realized what he had done. He had shifted Sam's troubles to himself.

Short one, but I actually hadn't seen this episode yet, so I had to scavenge around for this scene because Netflix logged me out and I forgot the password. Uhg!
