Emily's POV

"NYPD OPEN THE DOOR!" I froze in my spot. A hand grabbed mine and pulled me towards the end of the penthouse, closing the doors to what looked like a library. Logan left my hand and walked over to the last bookshelf, pulling one book down, causing the whole bookcase to turn around, opening to a secret passage. How cliché! It couldn't have looked more like a scene pulled out of an action movie! My eyes were still wide, debating weather I was believing my position at the very moment or not. The sound of the police was getting closer by the minute and my heart was sprinting in my ears.

"Come on!" Logan yelled, and I complied, not wanting to get caught. The entry led us through a weird, dark passage. Eventually we arrived another door. Logan stepped from behind me, revealing a small number pad before punching numbers onto it. The pad suddenly blinked green before the door opened. He turned on the lights, exposing a fine looking SUV. He hurried towards the corner, picking the keys and rushing to the car, I didn't waste my time and followed him inside the car. A lot of questions had penetrated my mind, but I couldn't focus on that right now. I had to focus on escaping the police. And there goes a sentence I never thought I would be saying.

Logan punched on the accelerator, getting out of the secret garage. I didn't protest, or talk, or move. I stood paralyzed and petrified in my place, with my mouth closed and my brain exploding with questions and worries.

What would happen to us now?

Was I in trouble with the police?

Would I ever get to see my family again?

Did I seriously have to pee now?

Was I going to die?

But I still didn't utter a word. Not for an hour. Nor for two hours. And certainly not for four hours.

For four hours, Logan was driving, and not a word came out of my exploding mouth. Surprisingly, neither did Logan. Until four excruciatingly long hours later, he spoke.

"You can talk Emily, I know you want to" I looked at him, and let myself empty my cage.

"Why do you have a secret passage in your house? How do you have a secret passage in your house? Why is your secret passage so cliché? Why am I coming with you? Are you going to kill me? I need to pee. Where are we going? Why have you been driving for so long? Where are the others? Do your crewmates know? Is-" well, more like rambled until he thankfully decided to cut me off.

"Stop. Calm down, I know this is really freaky and unexpected, but with the police after me and Deklan after you, did you really expect me to leave you back there? Besides, I'm a criminal; did you really expect me not to be ready for the worst? As the for the cliché stuff, it was all a gift from my mafia father. He provided me with my great escape just in case I ever ended up in a situation like this. I will call Austin and the others once we reach my other safe house, which is only a few more minutes away so please don't pee in my car." I was silenced after that, and not too long later, we pulled up at a small, crappy motel.

"This is your idea of a safe house?" I questioned as we stepped out of the car, walking towards the trunk.

"Well, when you're on the run, you can't really check yourself into a five star hotel now can you princess? It's called keeping a low profile." He said sarcastically. I decided not to reply and followed him as he carried two heavy bags in his hand that just happen to be ready in the trunk of his car. He passed straight by the lobby not once looking back at the lady on the desk, and surprisingly, the lady didn't object.

He continued walking until arriving room 301. He pulled out a set of keys from one of the bags and opened the door, revealing an amazingly bright room. There was a queen sized bed in the middle, snowhite sheets covering it, bright lamps located on every corner of the room and 2 chairs placed before the doors leading towards a balcony! It looked nothing like a motel room.
