I was affected.
I was heart broken
I felt betrayed
Like I'd lost the shattered pieces
of my young heart
and I was dying slowly.
Father broke my trust.
Mother broke the news.
Suki broke down
and I broke apart.
Most of that night was spent
locked in Mother's lavish bathroom
filling the room
with my cries for Father
and staining her white tile floors
with my tears.
It's surprising
The way a child
so desperately
cares and wishes
for their parents'
love and care.
